Job Description
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- May select and train staff
- May freeze and preserve foods

Job Ready Program (JRP):

English Language Requirements
- Typically, an overall IELTS score of 5.0 with no less than 4.5 in each component, or equivalent level
- Please refer to the TRA guidelines for accepted exams and scores
Work Experience Requirements
- Typically requires 12 months of paid work experience after obtaining qualifications
- JRP includes the work experience section
Academic Qualification Requirements
- Australian Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Overseas academic qualifications may require evaluation
