TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) is the unit within the Western Australian (WA) Department of Training and Workforce Development responsible for the recruitment and admission of international students studying at WA TAFE colleges and Government schools.
A school's risk rating is a key factor in determining the evidence required for a student's visa application, making it a crucial point of reference.
For example, if a school has a risk rating of Level 2, the applicant will face more restrictions than in the past and will be required to provide additional documentary evidence, such as proof of English language proficiency and financial capacity

Instructions To apply, students must:
1. be an international student holding a subclass 500 visa;
2. start in February or July 2025;
3. maintain continuous registration in a valid regional course pathway for at least one year;
4. maintain continuous residency in the designated region for the duration of the scholarship;
5. meet academic and English language requirements before the start of each course
6. understand that the scholarship will be paid to the awarded student in one of two ways:
two payments ($2,500 per semester, with the first payment approximately six weeks after the start of the first semester); or one lump sum payment ($5,000 for the second semester).
