Honours combines coursework and research in your chosen study area. The coursework component focuses on advanced knowledge in your specialisation while developing essential employability skills in research, problem-solving and oral and written communication. For the research component, you'll be mentored by La Trobe's expert staff to complete a thesis in your chosen field. You can also choose a combined Honours year and gain expertise in two study areas for a broad-ranging qualification. By graduating with Honours, you'll not only gain an edge in an increasingly competitive job market, you'll also have the opportunity to advance to further coursework or research at Master's level or, for high achievers, direct entry into a PhD.
