Our new Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) will prepare you to take a leading role. What will you do? Taught over four years full-time within a faculty ranked 50 in the world for computer science and engineering*, the degree leverages the University’s strong industry links and world-class research. Co-developed with industry, it features an emphasis on real-world experience, with an internship providing 456 hours of work-based training and industry internship opportunities embedded into the program during 3rd and 4th year.In addition to gaining a broad understanding of the foundations of the construction industry and associated project management—you’ll develop skills in evaluating, applying and using: new and emerging technology, including digital building-information modelling tools and automation technologies (Industry 4.0)civil engineering principles and technology, in real-world construction contextsconstruction project and people management, including legal requirementssystems thinking, building science and economics principlessustainability principles to design more eco-friendly construction processeshighly effective interpersonal communication and critical, independent thinking. This degree is hosted by the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and will prepare you well for a future career in which you’ll frequently work alongside professionals in these areas.In fourth year, you’ll also undertake major construction design and research projects. In these, and your internship, you’ll be mentored by our world-class, research-active staff and/or industry experts. Where could it take you? You’ll be ideally placed to work on high-technology infrastructure and construction projects anywhere in the world. From managing the construction of transformational infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnels and highways, to constructing the next generation of zero-energy buildings using the latest digital and Industry 4.0 technologies.
