In 2024, the University of Adelaide celebratesits 150th anniversaryas a significant milestone.
To celebrate the glorious history of the University of Adelaide, we helda series of celebratory events, inviting alumni, students, faculty, and community members from around the world to join in the festivities.

China currently has over 12,000 graduates from the University of Adelaide, making it the largest alumni community outside of Australia. This friendship is almost as old as the university itself, sustained by an active alumni network, long-term partnerships, and deep collaborations with universities and institutions across China.
During the 150th anniversary celebrations, Professor Jessica Gallagher, Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) of the University of Adelaide, along with university leaders and experts from the three faculties, visited China to engage withShanghai,BeijingandHong Kongalumni and partners, deepening theSino-Australian educationalties.

On October 13, the University of Adelaide'sChina Alumni Association·Shanghai Station eventmade a splendid appearance, attracting155 gueststo gather and celebrate together.The Australian Consul-General in ShanghaiMr. John Williams also attended the event, witnessing this important moment with the university.

As an alumni speaker,Treasury Wine Estatessenior winemaker Renowned Liu shared his journey of learning and growth in the wine industry, inspiring alumni to break through in their respective fields and forge ahead into the future.

On October 16, the Beijing station celebration gathered120 alumni and partners. The event was attended by distinguished guests, includingthe Australian Ambassador to ChinaMr. Scott Dewar andShandong University Vice PresidentProfessor Liu Jianya.

Beijing has always been an important bridge for the University of Adelaide in China, a deep connection not only stemming from long-standingalumni ties, but also from extensive collaborations ineducation, research, and innovation. On October 20, the China Alumni Association·Hong Kong Station event welcomed54 distinguished guests.The Australian Consul-General in Hong KongMr. Gareth Williams,President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityProfessor Teng Jin-guang, andVice President of Southern University of Science and TechnologyProfessor Jin Li all attended the event.
