Descriptions

Provides advanced and extended nursing care to patients, such as ordering diagnostic tests, undertaking diagnosis and health assessments, prescribing patient care management, medicines and therapies, as authorised in relevant nursing legislation, and referring to specialist Medical Practitioners and other Health Professionals in a range of health, welfare and community settings. Registration or licensing is required.

Job Description

  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patients according to accepted nursing practice and standards
  • Working in consultation with other Health Professionals and members of health teams, and coordinating the care of patients
  • Providing interventions, treatments and therapies such as medications, and monitoring responses to treatment and care plan
  • Promoting health and assisting in preventing ill health by participating in health education and other health promotion activities
  • Answering questions and providing information to patients and families about treatment and care
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of Enrolled Nurses and other health care workers

If you are applying for a direct nursing vocational skills assessment using an overseas nursing qualification, you will need to arrange a professional registration verification and email it to verification@anmac.org.au ; If an email is not available, the relevant agency can post the verification results directly to ANMAC.
      2. Please note that ANMAC will not accept emails sent from free internet email accounts.
      1. Collect and scan copies of original supporting documents;
      1. Create an account on the ANMAC website login page (you can only apply once using the same email address);
      1. Complete online forms and process applicants' credit card payments;
      1. Check that you have received an email from ANMAC confirming that your application and payment have been successfully received;
      1. Once payment is confirmed, go to the “My Account” section in the ANMAC portal to upload the applicant’s supporting documents;
      1. Submit your application and payment within one calendar month of account creation to avoid account deletion.

    Language Requirements

    1. Language score requirement: 4 IELTS scores of 7 in each subject

    1. Applicants are required to have a degree related to the nominated position. PhD / Bachelor (including Honours Bachelor and Master) 156 weeks of study time in Australia

    Degree requirements

      1. 1. Registered nurses and midwives must have at least 3 years of full-time undergraduate education, or a partial nursing master's degree;
      2. 2. Or midwives have completed a 1-year full-time midwifery course

    Work requirements

      1. 1. At least 12 months of paid Australian work experience (minimum 20 hours per week);
      1. 2. At least 36 months of paid international work experience (minimum 20 hours per week).
