Job Description
- Conducting examinations and questioning patients to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses, and recording patients' medical information
- Ordering laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, and interpreting findings to assist in diagnosis
- Providing overall care for patients, and prescribing and administering treatments, medications and other remedial measures
- Monitoring patients' progress and response to treatment
- Advising on diet, exercise and other habits which aid prevention and treatment of disease and disorders
- Referring patients to, and exchanging medical information with, specialist Medical Practitioners
- Reporting births, deaths and notifiable diseases to government authorities
- Arranging the admission of patients to hospitals

Eligibility Assessment
- 提名职业需为 Medical Practitioner(ANZSCO 253111 及相关)。

Assessment Steps
- Confirm Medical Qualification
- Must be a medical qualification recognized by the Australian Medical Council (AMC).
- Overseas qualifications require AMC verification (Primary Source Verification).
- Choose an Assessment Pathway
- Competent Authority Pathway
- Applicable to doctors who have completed medical examinations or registration in the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, or New Zealand.
- Upon passing, you can directly apply for limited registration, then transition to general registration.
- Standard Pathway
- Most overseas doctors take this pathway.
- Requires passing the AMC MCQ Exam (written) and the AMC Clinical Exam.
- Specialist Pathway
- Applicable to doctors who have completed specialist training and obtained qualifications overseas.
- Specialist qualifications are assessed by the relevant Australian Specialist College, followed by registration with the AMC/MedBA.
- Competent Authority Pathway
- English Language Proof
- IELTS Academic: Overall score ≥7.0 (each band ≥7.0);
- or OET: Grade B (in all four components);
- or PTE Academic: 65+ (no section score below 65);
- or TOEFL iBT: Overall score ≥94, Writing ≥27, Speaking ≥23, Reading ≥24, Listening ≥24.
- Registration Type (Apply to MedBA)
- Limited Registration (Suitable for those who have just passed AMC exams or are in a supervised period)
- Provisional Registration (Suitable for doctors who have completed an approved training program)
- General Registration (Suitable for those who have passed all assessments and completed the supervised/internship period)
- Specialist Registration (Suitable for doctors with specialist qualifications)
Assessment Requirements
Minimum Educational Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent AQF Level 7 or above).
- Must be from a medical school recognized by the AMC.
English Language Requirements
- IELTS Academic: ≥7.0 (each band)
- or OET: Grade B
- or PTE Academic: ≥65 (each communicative skill ≥65)
- or TOEFL iBT: ≥94 (Writing 27, Speaking 23, Reading 24, Listening 24)
Other Requirements
- Must pass AMC Primary Source Verification (EPIC system).
- Standard Pathway applicants must complete the AMC examinations (MCQ + Clinical).
- Competent Authority Pathway applicants may be partially exempt but still require supervised registration.
- Specialist Pathway requires assessment by the relevant Australian medical specialist college.
