Job Description

  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
  • Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • Preparing and cooking food
  • Seasoning food during cooking
  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
  • Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
  • May plan menus and estimate food requirements
  • May train other kitchen staff and apprentices

    1. A Commercial Cooking Level 3 Certificate or equivalent is required.

    2. May require paid work experience, possibly in Australia.

    1. Identification Documents: Passport personal information page, name change certificate (if applicable), passport-sized photo

    2. Educational Credentials: Diploma, Transcript

    3. Employment Verification: Employment reference letter/statement, pay stubs, tax documents, bank statements, Employment Verification Report (EVR) (for JRP)

    4. Other documents (depending on the route): Self-employment proof (if applicable), visa-related documents, (menu, dish photos, work log)
