Please see the following updates from Deakin University.

I. New: Priority Bursary Scholarship Program

Priority BursaryAims to support students from Asian regions in achieving their study goals at Deakin University. Recipients of this scholarship will also enjoy:

• Priority admission processing;
• Priority accommodation application.

Applicable regions:
Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam.

Application conditions:

• International students enrolling in 2026;
• Self-funded full-time students (not government-sponsored);
• Non-quota limited courses.

Scholarship amount:

• AUD $2,000: Accept the offer within 2 weeks of receiving it (and must be completed 4 weeks before the start of the semester);
• AUD $1,500: Accept the offer within 4 weeks of receiving it (also must be completed 4 weeks before the start of the semester).

II. Academic admission updates: SAT / ACT / AP can now be used as standalone qualifications for undergraduate admission

From now on, Deakin accepts SAT, ACT, and AP scores as standalone qualifications for undergraduate admission.

• Applicants must still meet: English language requirements; relevant subject prerequisites; genuine student (GS) and compliance checks.
• Score validity: SAT / ACT / AP scores must be no more than 2 years old at the start of the course.

Various exam requirements:

SAT

• Deakin accepts the Digital SAT (new digital version);
• Scoring method: EBRW + Math, total score out of 1600.

ACT

• Accepts the ACT Composite score (1–36).

AP

• Accepts at least 3 AP subjects;
• Each subject score must be 3 or higher.

IV. Course focus: Bachelor of Design

This course develops students' professional abilities in the following high-demand areas:

• UX/UI design
• Brand and visual communication
• Digital media
• Communication design

The course combines creativity with industry practice. Students will participate in real client projects, build portfolios, connect with businesses, and throughEmployability Streamdevelop entrepreneurship and leadership skills.

Industry certification:

• Recognized by the Design Institute of Australia (DIA);
• Students can become DIA members and participate in national design events.

The Priority Bursary is created to support students from the regions in achieving their study goals at Deakin.

Recipients of the Priority Bursary will also receive priority processing for both Deakin Student Residence places and admission applications.

Eligibility:

• New international students from Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam are eligible for a Priority Bursary.
• Must be a new, full fee-paying international student (not sponsored by an overseas government).
• Applying to commence study in 2026.
• Quota courses are excluded.

Bursary options:

• $2,000: Accept the firm offer (DUELI package or award) within 2 weeks of receiving it (and no later than 4 weeks before trimester start).
• $1,500: Accept the firm offer within 4 weeks of receiving it (and no later than 4 weeks before trimester start).

SAT, ACT, and AP accepted for UG Entry

Entry Requirements Update

Deakin University now accepts SAT, ACT, and AP results as standalone qualifications to meet the academic entry requirements for our undergraduate courses.

This update provides greater flexibility and more pathways for international students to join Deakin.

Please note:

• Applicants must also meet English proficiency and subject prerequisites, and satisfy Genuine Student (GS) and compliance checks.
• Score validity: SAT/ACT/AP results must be ≤ 2 years old at the time of course commencement.

📍SAT:

Deakin accepts the SAT (digital SAT, EBRW + Math, total out of 1600).

📍ACT:

Deakin accepts the ACT Composite (1–36).

📍AP:

Deakin accepts a minimum of three AP subjects with a score of 3 or higher.
