1. Swinburne International Scholarship

This is an academic merit-based scholarship for international students enrolling for the first time in 2026 at Swinburne's Hawthorn campus.
Applicable to the following course categories:

  • Foundation or pathway courses
  • Undergraduate courses
  • Postgraduate coursework courses

Eligible students will receive a 20% tuition fee reduction for the standard course duration.


2. George Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship aims to recognize international students with outstanding academic performance, applicable to those enrolling for the first time in 2026 in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework courses at Swinburne's Hawthorn campus.

Eligible students will receive a 30% tuition fee reduction for the standard course duration.


The following courses are not applicable to the above two scholarships:

  • Undergraduate courses: Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting/Bachelor of Business (double degree)
  • Postgraduate courses: Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Occupational Therapy


3. ELICOS+ Scholarship

This scholarship is for students undertaking ELICOS language courses (English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students) and transitioning to undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) courses at Swinburne.

Eligible students must be applicants who have not yet met the English language entry requirements for their main course.

After completing the ELICOS course and officially starting their main course studies, students will receive a refund equivalent to 10 weeks of ELICOS fees (up to A$5,000), which will be deducted in installments from the tuition fees of the first three semesters of the main course.


When international students submit their enrollment applications to Swinburne, the university will automatically assess and match them with available scholarships based on their previous academic performance.

Swinburne International Scholarship

This is a merit-based scholarship offered to international students commencing an eligible pathway course, or an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) course at our Hawthorn campus for the first time in 2026. Eligible students will receive 20 per cent off their tuition fees for the standard course duration.


George Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship recognises students’ high academic performance and is available to international students commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) course at our Hawthorn campus for the first time in 2026. Eligible students will receive 30 per cent off their tuition fees for the standard course duration.


Courses excluded from these two scholarships are:


Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting/Bachelor of Business (double degree) for undergraduate courses.

Master of Physiotherapy and Master of Occupational Therapy for postgraduate courses.



ELICOS+ Scholarship

This scholarship is for students undertaking an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) plus an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) course at Swinburne. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must not satisfy the English language requirement of their principal Swinburne course.


Once students have finished their ELICOS course and started their principal Swinburne course, a refund equal to 10 weeks of ELICOS fees – up to A$5,000 – will be deducted from their tuition fees across the first three semesters of their undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) course.


When an international student applies to Swinburne, we’ll automatically consider them for the available international scholarships based on the grades of their previous study.
