New assessment body ACECQA takes over, with both academic and English requirements relaxed!

✅ One-year postgraduate diploma in early childhood education can also apply!

✅ No longer only accepting IELTS, one year of study in an English-speaking country is also OK!

✅ The validity of the skills assessment is extended to 3 years!

Latest complete assessment checklist

1. Academic requirements

o ACECQA recognized ECT qualifications: AQF 7 (Bachelor) or AQF 8-10 (Grad Dip / Master

PhD) are acceptable.

o Mandatory coverage of 0-5 years curriculum areas;

o Practicum:

Undergraduate course ≥ 45 days;

Postgraduate course ≥ 60 days, and ≥ 10 days in 0-36 months class.

o If the course lacks 0-3 years units, it can be supplemented with 1 year of full-time ECT work experience.

2. English requirements (choose one, must be within 2 years)

o IELTS Academic: R/W 7.0 & L/S 8.0 (passed in one sitting);

o ISLPR: Level 4 in each;

o Proof of completion of 1 year full-time higher education in an English-speaking country (Australia/New Zealand/UK/USA/Canada/Ireland).

3. Application fees

o AUD 1,100 (including 10% GST); reassessment AUD 990. 4. Official processing time

o ≤ 60 days from complete materials; missing materials will pause the clock.

5. Validity of assessment results

o 3 years, 12 months longer than the old version.

6. Acceptable work experience proof (if supplementing 0-3 years or practicum days)

o Teacher/practicum teacher position description, employer letter, payslips, timetable, etc.

7. Essential materials summary

o Passport (and any name change/marriage certificate).

o Completion letter + degree certificate + transcript (original English or bilingual version).

o Practicum proof letter: indicating days, age group, signed and stamped.

o *Work experience proof (if supplementing courses).

o *Detailed CV.
