ED34 Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (0 to 5 years)
• Course code: ED34
• Intake: February and July
• Duration: Full-time 3 years
• Tuition: AUD 36,500 per year

Course highlights:
• Accredited by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
• QUT arranges 55 days of internship and 26 days of WIL project.
• High employment rate: 90% of QUT undergraduate education graduates successfully employed within four months of graduation.
• English requirement: IELTS overall score only needs 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component), not 7.5.
• No subject prerequisites: This course does not require completion of Year 12 English or Mathematics.
• Students do not need to take the LANTITE test to graduate.
• Generous scholarships: Automatic assessment for eligibility for the International Merit Scholarship (25% tuition fee reduction) or QUT Real World International Scholarship (20% tuition fee reduction in the first year).
• TAFE students can get one year of credit reduction: Students who have completed the TAFE Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care can receive a reduction of 96 credits (equivalent to one year).
Entry requirements:
• ATAR 70 or
• Students without ATAR: Completion of Australian Year 12 plus a Certificate III, or
• Chinese Gaokao four best subjects achieving 60% of the total score, or
• Completion of a foundation program at an Australian university with a final GPA of 4.5/7 and passing all subjects, or
• Completion of a Diploma program at an Australian university or TAFE
English requirements:
• IELTS overall score 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in each component), or
• PTE overall score 58 (with no less than 50 in each component), or
• Completion of Australian Year 12, or
• Completion of a Diploma program at an Australian university or TAFE
Those who do not meet the direct entry requirements or English requirements can combine QUT foundation program and language course.
The course is now open for Studylink applications.
In the second semester of 2025, the course will only be open to international students who have completed the TAFE Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
From 2026, it will be open to all international students for application.

Academic entry requirements:
- ATAR 70 or equivalent overseas senior secondary qualification, please refer to the “requirements” tab on QUT - Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth to Five), or
- ATAR ineligible students - Completion of Australian Year 12 plus completed a Certificate III, or
- Successful completion of a Foundation program at an Australian University with a final overall grade point average (GPA) of 4.50 (on QUT's 7 point scale) and at least a pass in all units, or
- Successful completion of a Diploma onshore from any Australian university or TAFE
English requirement:
- IELTS 6.5 (6.0), or
- PTE 58 (50), or
- Successful completion of Year 12 in Australia, or
- Successful completion of a one-year Diploma onshore from any Australian university or TAFE
The course is now live on StudyLink for you to apply. Please note that in Sem 2 2025, it will only be offered to international students who completed a TAFE diploma. From 2026, this course will be offered to all international students.
