Open Day
Last Sunday, on a clear winter day, we gathered at La Trobe UniversityAlbury-Wodonga Campus, to participate in the annual Open Day event.
On that day, the campus was bustling with activity as visitors came to learn about La Trobe's various courses, advanced facilities, and vibrant campus life. They were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and student ambassadors, gaining a deep understanding of the real experience of studying at La Trobe.
For those visitors interested in specific courses, we also arrangedmultiple academic lectures, covering psychology, education, nursing, social work, biomedical science, biomedical (medical), and online business and arts degree programs.
One of the highlights of the day was theBiomedical Science Laboratorytour, where participants not only got to conduct some experiments hands-on but also gained an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge research in our advanced laboratories, experiencing the learning environment of students in actual lab classes.
Nursing Laboratorytour was also very popular, with visitors learning some basic nursing skills in a simulated hospital environment, led by staff and students, and watching demonstrations of simulated patient scenarios.
Students could also communicate with La Trobe's course advisors at the consultation center, receivingpersonalized study advice and career planning guidance.
Of course, Open Day was not just about academic activities. There were alsodelicious food and live music performances. In the morning, there were egg and bacon rolls and coffee, and in the afternoon, there were wood-fired pizzas, donuts, and Spanish paella. The La Moka café on campus also offered tasty snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy during the busy event.
