Consul General Fang Xinwen of the Consulate General of China in Melbourne, leading a delegation including Education Counselor Ding Li, visited La Trobe University on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, aiming to engage in in-depth exchanges on cooperation and exchanges in the field of education between China and Australia.
On May 7, Consul General Fang Xinwen visited La Trobe University and held talks with University President Professor Theo Farrell, Vice President (Future Development) Dr. Stacey Farraway, and Vice President (Educational Cooperation) Professor Amalia Di Iorio.
Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on promoting educational cooperation and exchanges between China and Australia, ensuring the safety of Chinese students studying abroad, and deepening and expanding cultural exchanges. Counselor Ding Li, in charge of educational affairs at the Consulate General, and Deputy Consul Li Linze attended the meeting.
After the meeting,Consul General Fang met with professors from relevant schools, administrative faculty, and representatives of Chinese students, expressing gratitude for the services and support provided by the university to Chinese students.Consul General Fang also answered questions of concern from the university, faculty, and student representatives.
The delegation met with Professor Liu Chaojie, Deputy Dean of the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University, and other distinguished faculty members, engaging in in-depth discussions on further cooperation and exchanges.Participants spoke freely, engaging in lively discussions on providing better services for Chinese students and promoting educational and cultural exchanges between China and Australia.
Consul General Fang extended warm greetings to the students, advising them to cherish their learning opportunities, study safely and successfully, while being vigilant against telecom fraud and ensuring their safety.
This exchange activity laid a solid foundation for promoting educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Australia, jointly advancing the prosperity and development of the educational cause.
