Breaking News: 2025 QS World University Rankings Released, ANU Ranks 30th Globally

On June 4, 2024, local time, the international higher education research institution QS Quacquarelli Symonds officially releasedthe 2025 QS World University Rankings. The Australian National University (ANU) ranked30thamong the 1,500 top universities from 106 higher education systems participating in the ranking,continuing to be among the world's top universities.Compared to last year's ranking, it has risen by four places



.


Professor Lachlan Blackhall, Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of the Australian National University, expressed his delight at seeing ANU jump four places in the rankings.


"The Australian National University has a proud tradition of high-quality, distinctive research, teaching activities, and impact, and our ranking reflects this," said Professor Lachlan.


"We are committed to setting new standards in higher education by fostering an environment that creates high academic quality and distinctiveness, innovative research, and impactful change."



The 2025 QS World University Rankings measure universities' performance across several indicators, including research and discovery, employability and graduate outcomes, learning experience, global engagement, and sustainability.Among the nine indicators assessed, the Australian National University has improved in six.


These include international research collaboration, the proportion of international students, student employment, sustainability, and employer reputation.


It's not just the overall ranking that has placed the Australian National University in the global top 30. The university has also seen a significant improvement in its sustainability ranking—rising from outside the global top 100 to 30th. The Australian National University is one of the few universities globally that has set an ambitious goal of zero emissions. ANU aims to achieve this through actions focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and decarbonization.Read the original article
