For a long time, the University of WollongongUOWhas been strategically focused on assisting students for their future, creating knowledge to build a better future, and making a difference in our community; and persistently striving to achieve these goals.

The 2023 Annual Report submitted by the University of Wollongong UOW to the New South Wales Parliament last week shows that UOW is steadfastly fulfilling its core mission of teaching and research.

In this annual report, these important data demonstrate UOW's efforts in these areas:

  • In the QILT Employer Satisfaction Survey, the overall satisfaction of undergraduates increased to 80.4% (78.2% in the previous year).

  • Excelling in teaching, the overall employer satisfaction of UOW graduates is 87.3% (5th nationally, 2nd in New South Wales).


UOW has also achieved significant accomplishments in providing impactful research in 2023:

  • First-time ranking in the Australian Financial Review's Best Universities – 7th in Australia

  • In global university rankings, 2024 QS World University Rankings – 162nd, QS World Sustainability Rankings (62nd), Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (61st).


Professor David Currow, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UOW, stated that UOW plays a crucial role in education and research, and we are also significant contributors to the economic and social fabric of the community.


Professor Currow also said: "Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our teaching feedback, improvements in global ranking results, and strong indicators such as student satisfaction and graduate outcomes."


In 2024, UOW's determination and efforts in fulfilling commitments and goals will undoubtedly continue to help UOW climb higher and maintain excellent performance.
