Bendigo Bendigo is the fourth largest city in Victoria, about 160 kilometers from Melbourne, less than two hours' drive. Historically, the gold rush in 'San Francisco', California, began around 1848; while the gold mines in Bendigo were not discovered until the 1850s, hence the name 'New Gold Mountain'.
This ancient and culturally rich city has preserved many old buildings and is an important cultural center full of artistic atmosphere. Bendigo hosts various festivals and celebrations every year, the most famous being the Easter Festival, which reportedly attracts nearly 100,000 tourists annually.

There will be over 200 stalls on these two days, offering various artworks and handicrafts, handmade delicacies, unique treasures, collectibles, delicious agricultural products, and more.
Awakening the Golden Dragon Performance

📍Dai Gum San Chinese Precinct, Bridge Street
A traditional celebration presented by the Bendigo Chinese Association Lion Dance Team and Dragon Dance Team, including lion and dragon dance performances. It concludes with the lighting of 100,000 firecrackers to awaken the Golden Dragon from its slumber, preparing for its appearance in the grand parade on Sunday.
Grand Festival Parade

The grand festival parade will kick off on Easter Sunday, featuring float parades, special dances, fireworks shows, and other performances that can be enjoyed for free! The highlight of the Easter parade is the traditional Chinese performance - the dragon dance! Here you can find the world's longest 'Great Golden Dragon', interestingly, the dragon dancers are not only Chinese but also people of different ethnicities.
Night Parade

An exciting night parade, with the Bendigo Chinese Association's light decorations making an entrance. The climax of the parade will be the fireworks display over Rosalind Park.
