With the rapid development of technology, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a significant force shaping modern society. In this era full of challenges and opportunities, Charles Darwin University (CDU) has officially launched a new Master of Information Technology (Artificial Intelligence) program, dedicated to cultivating leaders and innovators in the future technology field. This two-year course will take you deep into the mysteries of artificial intelligence, combining theory and practice to create a learning platform full of opportunities for students.



An associate professor of information technology and AI expert at CDU Sydney said the course involves understanding numerous AI applications and delves into computer science, information systems, and the technological background used to create them. 'AI is everywhere, it has countless applications, the CDU Master of Information Technology in AI will enable our students to understand the different fields where AI can be applied, how to help create these systems, and how to implement them,' she said. 'This course will teach students how to use AI to solve real-world problems and work with current industry applications.'


Bharanidharan Shanmugam, a senior lecturer in information technology and course coordinator at CDU, said this master's program is designed for students from various backgrounds, not just IT, and the course units are structured in a way to build a knowledge foundation.


During the study period, students can choose to write a thesis or engage in professional practice, collaborating with actual companies to solve all AI problems. 'By providing this hands-on learning experience, students have the opportunity to test their knowledge and understand what it would be like to pursue a career in AI, and it provides a pathway into the industry,' Mr. Shanmugam said.



Master of Information Technology

(Artificial Intelligence)


This course focuses on information systems and their impact in the modern world. You will explore the impact of information systems in courses and project work. Your learning will combine theoretical and practical activities, providing you with opportunities to interact with industry leaders.


Duration: 2 years

Intake: February, July, Summer Semester

Campus: Sydney/Darwin Casuarina Campus/


Academic Requirements:

Successful completion of a recognized bachelor's degree or equivalent international qualification

English Requirements:

IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6.0) or PTE 58 (no band less than 50)

Tuition Fee: AUD 31,688 per year (2024)




International Student Scholarships


To support more international students from around the world to study at Charles Darwin University, CDU will continue to offer the '30% Excellence International Student' scholarship in 2024. This scholarship is applicable to new international students enrolling for the first time in all semesters of 2024.


The CDU Excellence International Student Scholarship is applicable to Vocational and Training courses (VET), undergraduate, postgraduate (coursework), and higher research courses. The scholarship is now open and will covera 30% reduction in the entire course tuition fee, eligible students do not need to apply separately, it will be included in the offer letter.


Deadline: Applicants must accept the Offer by 11:59 pm (Australian Central Standard Time) the day before the start of the semester. The start date can be checked on the CDU official website.


Eligibility

  • Applicants must meet the academic and English entry requirements for the selected course at the university.

  • Applicants must not hold other scholarships awarded by Australia or other sponsoring institutions.

  • International students must study full-time on campus in Darwin, Alice Springs, and Sydney.

  • Meet the university's academic and English entry requirements, and start studying in Semester 1, 2024, Summer Semester 2024, or Semester 2, 2024. There is no GPA requirement for this scholarship.

  • Applicants must be international students.
