Lisa Paul AO PSM Officially Assumes Role as UC Chancellor!

AO represents 'Officer of the Order of Australia' (Officer of the Order of Australia), an honor awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service or achievement at the national level in Australia.

PSM represents 'Public Service Medal' (Public Service Medal), aimed at recognizing the outstanding contributions of Australian government employees as well as state, territory, and local government employees.

Dear students,

I am very pleased to announce some good news to everyone,Lisa Paul AO PSM will join the University of Canberra Council as the Chancellor of UC starting from January 1, 2024.

Lisa has been living and working in Canberra since her graduation. She embraces diversity and is committed to social equity and justice.She is highly respected for her professional achievements in the public service sector and is also the longest-serving Secretary of the Department of Education in Australia (2004-2016).

Although she has left the government's education department, Lisa's passion for the field of education has never waned, and she serves as a director in several education-related institutions, as well as holding key positions in foundations and non-profit organizations.

Lisa has also served as a director for the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre, the University of Melbourne's Accelerator Program, Social Ventures Australia, and Navitas Pty Ltd, among others.

With her rich professional knowledge and deep industry experience in the field of education, we sincerely believe that she will bring new perspectives and profound understanding to UC, helping us implement the 'Connected' ten-year strategic plan.
