At the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, the University of Adelaide warmly welcomesSino-Australian cooperative education programnew undergraduate students in architecture from Nantong University👏. After 3.5 years of study at Nantong University, these students will continue theirUniversity of Adelaidefor1.5 yearsof further study in architecture.

At the event, Associate Professor Katharine Bartsch, the academic director of the undergraduate cooperative education program in architecture, warmly welcomed the new students from afar. Professor Scott Smith, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology (International Affairs), encouraged everyone to enjoy the fun of exploring professional knowledge and to 'Make History' with the university on the occasion of its 150th anniversary.

The new students had pleasant exchanges with faculty members, the international student services team, the future students team, and senior students, sharing valuable experiences of studying and living in Adelaide.

After enjoying a delicious Australian afternoon tea, the students, led by Associate Professor Peter Scriver who specializes in architectural history, participated in a study tour of campus architecture and landscape design, exploring the changes in design concepts and innovations of the university's architectural complexes over the past 150 years.

The“3.5+1.5 cooperative education program”between the University of Adelaide and Nantong UniversityNantong Universitywas established in 2017. Students who successfully complete both phases of study will receiveUniversity of Adelaidea graduation certificate and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in architecture from Nantong University, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Adelaide.
Our first batch of students successfully completed their undergraduate studies and officially graduated last June. Some chose to continue their master's studies at the University of Adelaide, while others entered well-known companies to work.
This educational project, jointly developed by the two universities, has built a platform forSino-Australian education sharingand has cultivated batches of outstanding architectural talents with an international perspective. Both universities will be their strong backing and the starting point for pursuing their architectural career dreams.
