On February 16, Mr. Steve Whan, Minister for Skills, TAFE, and Higher Education of New South Wales, along with Mr. Ryan Park, Minister for Health, and Mr. Paul Scully, Minister for Planning and Public Spaces in the Wollongong region, visited the University of Wollongong (UOW).
UOW Chancellor Michael Still and Vice-Chancellor Professor Patricia M. Davidson participated in the meeting, discussing major initiatives for UOW's development and priority concerns of the higher education sector. Additionally, they toured UOW's facilities, including the Early Start Discovery Space and the Molecular Horizons building.

Early Start
UOW's Early Start Discovery Space showcases world-class facilities. The center integrates research, education, and the community to explore a wide range of developmental issues in the first years of a child's life. Early Start is a cross-sector collaboration initiative between the government, charitable organizations, and academia, aiming to positively impact the life trajectories of children in remote and regional Australia.

The next stop was Molecular Horizons, where cutting-edge research is currently underway. Molecular Horizons plays a leading role in exploring life sciences, uncovering the complex secrets of cellular existence. The team at Molecular Horizons tirelessly works to address major health threats facing the global population, with a focus on research into cancer, antibiotics, and Alzheimer's disease.
