Job Description

  • Coaching, training and instructing sportspersons by analysing performances and developing abilities
  • Planning and directing game strategies, developing play patterns and analysing game progress
  • Motivating Sportspersons and supervising practice sessions
  • Recruiting players and other coaching staff
  • Arranging entries into sporting competitions
  • Promoting sports and skills development, and overseeing the participation of young people in sport
  • Officiating at sporting events to enforce rules
  • Coordinating and directing sporting activities, and liaising with other officials to interpret and enforce rules and regulations relating to sport

Eligibility Assessment

  • The nominated occupation falls under VETASSESS Group F and meets the educational and work experience requirements for Pathway 1 or Pathway 2.

Assessment Steps

Assessment Requirements

  • Pathway 1: Hold at least an AQF Certificate II or higher qualification, with a major in a highly relevant field, and have at least 1 year of paid, highly relevant employment within the last 5 years after obtaining the qualification.
  • Pathway 2: Hold at least an AQF Certificate II or higher qualification, with a major not highly relevant, but have at least 2 years of paid, highly relevant employment within the last 5 years.
  • Required documents include proof of identity, educational documents (including transcripts and subject lists), employment proof, translated documents, resume, and materials related to self-employment, etc.
  • No uniform language requirement, but non-English documents require certified translations.
  • Work experience must be paid; part-time work is acceptable but must meet the standard full-time equivalent hours.
  • If the major is not highly relevant, Pathway 2 must be followed, requiring additional work experience.
