801 - Partner visa (Permanent)
Introduction
The 801 Partner (Migrant) visa is a permanent visa that allows the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to live permanently in Australia. This visa is the second stage of the onshore Partner Temporary visa (subclass 820) and is typically processed two years after the 820 visa is granted.
Application Fee
The application fee structure for the Australian 801 Permanent Visa is the same as that for the 100 Visa, and generally, no additional application fee is required. This is because the 801 Visa is considered the second stage of the 820 Onshore Temporary Visa, and the full government application fee has already been paid in a lump sum when you submitted the 820 visa application.
Application Materials
When applying for the 801 permanent visa, you primarily need to demonstrate to the immigration authorities that your relationship with the sponsor remains genuine and ongoing after the grant of the 820 temporary visa. This is similar to the materials submitted during the initial 820 visa application, but the focus is on providing updated and recent evidence.
