  1. Eligibility Stage (Specific to Chinese Applicants)
    • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI): You need to wait for the Australian Department of Home Affairs to open the ballot period for the Work and Holiday visa. During this time, you must submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) online.
    • Wait for the Ballot Result: The Department of Immigration will conduct a random ballot of all submitted EOIs.
    • Receive an Invitation: If you are selected in the ballot, the Department will send you a formal visa application invitation via email. You must submit your formal visa application within the specified timeframe after receiving the invitation.
  2. Prepare and Submit Application Online
    • Gather Documents: After receiving the invitation, you must immediately prepare all required documents according to the instructions. These include your passport, proof of funds, educational qualifications, language test results, and police clearance certificate. All non-English documents require NAATI certified translation.
    • Create or Log in to ImmiAccount: You need to create an ImmiAccount on the official website of the Australian Department of Home Affairs, or log in to an existing account.
    • Complete and Upload: Using the information from your invitation, complete and submit the online application form for the Subclass 462 visa within your ImmiAccount, and upload scanned copies of all prepared supporting documents.
    • Pay the Application Fee: Pay the visa application fee online.
  3. Biometrics Collection and Health Examination
    • Biometrics Collection: After submitting your application, you will receive a notification to visit a designated Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) to provide your biometrics (fingerprints and facial photograph).
    • Health Examination: If required by the Department of Immigration, you must also undergo a health examination at an approved hospital.
  4. Await Processing and Visa Grant
    • Await Processing: The Department of Immigration will review your application materials. You can track your application status via your ImmiAccount and promptly respond to any requests for additional information.
    • Visa Grant: Once your application is approved, the Department will send a visa grant notice via email. This notice will include your visa's validity period and entry conditions.
    • Enter Australia: You must be outside Australia when the visa is granted, and make your first entry within the visa's validity period.
