1. Murdoch University announces the new International Futures Scholarship

25% direct tuition fee reduction for the entire study period

Any eligible international student, regardless of nationality, who successfully progresses from Murdoch College to relevant undergraduate or master's courses at Murdoch University in 2026 will automatically receive this long-term scholarship.

This is an extremely attractive scholarship policy, with students eligible for up to approximately AUD 42,000 in tuition fee reduction throughout their study period.

When to commence studies?

Students must officially commence their undergraduate or master's courses at Murdoch University in 2026.

Therefore, students need to enroll in the following bridging Murdoch College courses before 2026:

  1. Murdoch University Preparation Course (MUPC) – Accelerated Entry CRICOS: 069100D Commencing in February 2026
  2. Postgraduate Qualifying Program (PQB / PQP) CRICOS: 111519A Commencing in February 2026


2. Latest changes to the Bachelor of Nursing at Murdoch University

The Bachelor of Nursing program at Murdoch University's Mandurah campus has been shortened from 3.5 years to 3 years.

This adjustment aligns the nursing program at the Mandurah campus with all nursing programs nationwide in Australia.


Explanation of Murdoch College nursing pathway

Since Murdoch College's nursing pathway students enroll in the July intake at the Mandurah campus, students need to meet the following pathway requirements:

Bridging foundation courses for nursing:

✔ MUPC – Accelerated (fast-track foundation) commencing in February

or

✔ Foundation Studies commencing in October

Both courses conclude in June, facilitating seamless progression to the Bachelor of Nursing program in July.


English requirements for the Bachelor of Nursing (must be met before enrollment)Students must meet the following language requirements:

  • IELTS overall score 7.0
  • Writing 6.5
  • All other individual bands 7.0

or equivalent language proficiency.


Internship requirements for the nursing program

All Bachelor of Nursing students must complete at least 800 hours of clinical placement and industry practice.

  • Internship hours are distributed throughout the 3-year program
  • Most internships are scheduled in the final year
  • The university will be responsible for arranging internship locations and will try to arrange placements at healthcare facilities near students' residences


English language requirements (Murdoch College enrollment requirements)

Foundation Studies or MUPC (regular foundation) pathway → Bachelor of Nursing

  • IELTS 6.0 (minimum 6.0 in all bands) or
  • PTE 50 (Reading 53 / Writing 54 / Speaking 50 / Listening 50)


MUPC – Accelerated (fast-track foundation) pathway → Bachelor of Nursing

  • IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in all bands) or
  • PTE 58 (Reading 53 / Writing 58 / Speaking 50 / Listening 50)


3. Pathway for under-18 students to progress to Murdoch University has been reopened

Now, Murdoch College students under 18 years old can once again receive 'packaged offers' and progress to Murdoch University.

Latest policies and requirements:

1. Guardianship and welfare (CAAW) responsibility

  • Murdoch College: Responsible for CAAW until the day before Orientation Day
  • Murdoch University: Assumes guardianship responsibility from Orientation Day (or one week before commencement)


2. Age requirement

  • Students must be at least 17.5 years old when enrolling at Murdoch University
  • If younger, special approval from Murdoch University must be obtained during the application stage

3. Approved accommodation providers

Students must reside in one of the following for the university to accept CAAW:

  • AHN (Australian Homestay Network)
  • Murdoch Village (on-campus accommodation)


4. Guardianship agreement requirement

Students must sign the ISA (International Student Alliance) guardianship agreement; otherwise, they cannot receive Murdoch University CAAW.


5. Documentation requirements

Students must submit the following when accepting the offer:

  • Murdoch University under-18 application form
  • All required supporting documents (such as guardianship agreement, accommodation confirmation, etc.)

Who is eligible:ANY eligible international student regardless of nationality who progresses from Murdoch College into eligible courses starting at Murdoch University in 2026 will automatically receive this amazing durational scholarship! This is a game-changing opportunity that offers students up to AUD$42,000 in total scholarship reduction.

When:Students must commence their Murdoch University degree in 2026.

Given students must commence at Murdoch University in 2026 to take advantage of this offer the Murdoch College options are limited and include:
(1) Murdoch University Preparation Course (MUPC) – (Accelerated Entry) (069100D) commencing in February 2026.
(2) Postgraduate Qualifying Program (111519A) commencing February 2026.

Murdoch University Announces Changes to the Bachelor of Nursing

The Bachelor of Nursing programme at Murdoch University's Mandurah Campus has been restructured from 3.5 years to 3 years in duration. This amendment aligns the Bachelor of Nursing at Murdoch Mandurah Campus with all other nursing degrees offered nationally.

Murdoch College students are admitted into the July intake at the Mandurah Campus. As a result, students are required to complete either the
Murdoch University Preparation Course – Acceleratedcommencing in February or theFoundation Studiesprogramme commencing in October. Both programmes conclude in June to facilitate a July commencement at Murdoch University. Students must achieve an IELTS score of 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in Writing and 7.0 in all other bands, or equivalent, prior to commencing the Bachelor of Nursing.

All Bachelor of Nursing students are required to complete 800 hours of clinical experience and industry placement as an integral component of their nursing degree. These hours are distributed throughout the 3-year programme, with the majority allocated to the final year. The School of Nursing is responsible for securing and allocating student placements and will endeavour to arrange placements with healthcare providers in proximity to students' residences.

Students seeking admission to the Murdoch College Foundation Studies or Murdoch University Preparation Programme (MUPC) packaged with the Bachelor of Nursing require IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 6.0 in all bands) or PTE 50 overall (Reading 53, Writing 54, Speaking 50, Listening 50).


Students seeking admission to the Murdoch University Preparation Programme – Accelerated (MUPCX) packaged with the Bachelor of Nursing require IELTS 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in all bands) or PTE 58 overall (Reading 53, Writing 58, Speaking 50, Listening 50). Update: Pathway for Under-18 Students to Murdoch University

Following a temporary pause, we're pleased to confirm that Murdoch College students under 18 years of age can once again receive packaged offers that include progression to Murdoch University.

New Process:

  • Welfare coverage responsibility:Murdoch College will provide Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) until the day before Murdoch University Orientation Day. From Orientation Day (or one week before commencement), Murdoch University will assume CAAW responsibility.
  • Minimum age requirement:Students must be at least 17.5 years old when starting at Murdoch University. Students younger than this require approval from Murdoch University during the application stage before a joint offer can be issued.
  • Approved accommodation:Only AHN and Murdoch Village are acceptable accommodation providers for Murdoch University CAAW purposes.
  • Additional requirements:Students must have an International Student Alliance (ISA) guardianship agreement in place to receive Murdoch University CAAW.
  • Documentation:Students must complete and return the Murdoch University Under-18 form with all required supporting documents at the time of acceptance.
