About the update of Macquarie University admission standards

We are very pleased to share with you the latest adjustments to Macquarie University's admission standards for some international students, aimed at further optimizing the application process and providing more opportunities for students.

The specific updates are as follows:


  1. A Level Students
    • The minimum admission requirement has been adjusted to AS Level 8 points (at least 3 subjects) or A Level 6 points (2 subjects) to enter the Diploma program, A Level 6 points (2 subjects)
    • The scoring method is: a* = 6 points, a = 5 points, b = 4 points, c = 3 points, d = 2 points, e = 1 point, Chinese is recognized.


  1. AP Students
    • Now accepting AP scores + high school diploma for direct application to university courses.
    • The AP requirement is the best 2 AP subjects, with a total score of 5 points to apply for the Diploma program, and a total score of 6 points to apply for the Bachelor of Arts.



  1. UK Undergraduate Students (recent graduates and those with less than two years of work experience)
    • UK undergraduate score of 40 points can apply for Macquarie University's postgraduate courses requiring a WAM of 50 (2 years/1.5 years).
    • UK undergraduate score of 55 points can apply for the university's one-year postgraduate courses requiring a WAM of 65.

This adjustment aims to provide more flexible and friendly admission pathways for students from diverse educational backgrounds. We believe these updates will create more opportunities for students and further strengthen our close relationships with partners.
