University of Melbourne Updates (Some 2026 Undergraduate Application Deadlines Extended to November 30; Melbourne Business School Opens Admissions; Faculty of Education English Language Requirements Reduced)

Please see the following updates from the University of Melbourne.


1. The 2026 undergraduate application deadline has been extended to November 30, 2025

The following undergraduate programshave had their international application deadline extended to November 30, 2025:

  • Bachelor of Agriculture
  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Bachelor of Biomedicine
  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Bachelor of Design
  • Bachelor of Oral Health
  • Bachelor of Science

The following courses are not included in the extension due to their special selection processes:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts
  • Bachelor of Music

Students are advised to apply as early as possible to ensure sufficient time to meet conditions and apply for a student visa.

2. Hawthorn-Melbourne Packaged CoE

Reminder: Students enrolled in Hawthorn-Melbourne language courses must upload the following two documents when applying for a packaged CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment) from the University of Melbourne upon acceptance:

  1. Hawthorn-Melbourne CoE;
  2. Proof of tuition fee payment

If both documents are not provided simultaneously, a conditional CoE cannot be issued.


3. Brazil ENEM Scores Now Accepted for Direct Entry to Undergraduate Programs

The University of Melbourne has updated its undergraduate entry requirements for Brazilian students.

Effective immediately, the Brazilian National High School Exam (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio, abbreviated as ENEM) is now officially recognized as a valid qualification for direct application to the University of Melbourne's undergraduate programs.

Additionally, students must also:

  • Achieve the minimum aggregate score in AP exams, or
  • Achieve the minimum SAT/ACT score requirements, while also meeting the course's subject prerequisites.

Specific Brazilian entry requirements can be viewed on the university's official website.

4. Extension of International Student Master's Application Deadlines

If your students plan to apply for the University of Melbourne's graduate programs for the 2026 intake, the application deadlines for many programs have been extended.

Please encourage students to visit the relevant course webpage to confirm the latest deadlines.

5. Melbourne Business School Now Open for Recruitment

Education agent representatives can now officially recruit students for the following two flagship programs:

  • Full-Time MBA: Ranked #1 in Australia, focusing on career development, leadership cultivation, and international opportunities.
  • Master of Business Analytics: A one-year intensive program that develops students' advanced data, technology, and business skills in high demand globally.


6. New Graduate Scholarship at Melbourne School of Design

The Melbourne School of Design (MSD) is pleased to announce a new graduate course scholarship for students commencing in graduate coursework programs at the design school.


Design Graduate Merit Scholarship

  • Tuition fee remission: 10%
  • Eligible candidates: Outstanding international students enrolling in graduate programs at the Melbourne School of Design
  • Up to 50 awards will be granted each year

This new scholarship further enriches MSD's existing scholarship system, which includes:

  • Design Graduate Pathway Scholarship: For high-achieving students progressing from a Bachelor of Design to graduate programs at the design school, offering a 10% tuition fee remission.
  • Design Global Graduate Scholarship: For international students from countries where educational opportunities are limited by economic disadvantages, offering a 20% tuition fee remission.

7. Adjustment of English Language Requirements for the Faculty of Education (Effective from 2026)

Starting from the 2026 intake, the English language requirements for the following courses in the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Education will be adjusted:

  • Master of Education
  • Master of TESOL
  • Master of Teaching suite of courses

The new language requirements are as follows:

  • Master of Education and Master of TESOL: English requirement is UoM Band 6.5 (overall score no less than 6.5, with no band below 6.0)
  • Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary / Primary / Secondary): English requirement is UoM Band 7+ (overall score no less than 7.0; Writing and Reading no less than 7.0, Speaking and Listening no less than 7.5)
  • Master of Teaching (Early Childhood): English requirement is UoM Band 7+ (overall score no less than 7.0, with no band below 7.0)

Additionally, all existing offers for the affected courses for the February 2026 intake will be automatically updated to the new, relatively lower language requirements.

Please ensure that acceptance agreements include evidence of tuition fee deposit or financial guarantee (if sponsored). Allow up to five business days for the acceptance to be processed. Follow-up emails within this timeframe may cause further delays.

The international application deadline for start year 2026 has been extended to 30 November 2025 for the following undergraduate programs:

We strongly encourage applicants to apply as early as possible to ensure that they have sufficient time to meet any outstanding conditions and secure their student visa.


Hawthorn-Melbourne packaged CoEs

A reminder that students enrolled at Hawthorn-Melbourne must upload a copy of their Hawthorn-Melbourne CoE and evidence of tuition fee deposit or financial guarantee (if sponsored) as part of their acceptance, to be issued with a UoM packaged Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). A conditional CoE cannot be issued unless both documents are provided.


Brazil ENEM now accepted for direct entry

The University of Melbourne has updated its undergraduate entry requirements for students from Brazil.


Effective immediately, the Brazil National High School Exam - Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) - is now accepted as a recognised qualification for direct admission upon graduation from the national secondary school qualification in Brazil.


Students will also need to achieve the minimum AP exams aggregate score OR achieve the minimum SAT/ACT test score, in addition to satisfying the course prerequisites.

From start year 2026, there will be changes to the English language requirements for the following courses in the Faculty of Education: Master of Education, Master of TESOL and the Master of Teaching suite.
