1. Swinburne University ranks first in Victoria for graduate achievements
Swinburne University ranks first in Victoria for full-time employment rates and median full-time annual salaries among domestic graduates who have completed undergraduate degrees. The latest 'Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT)' survey shows that Swinburne's undergraduate graduates had a median salary of A$77,900 in 2024, nearly A$10,000 higher than the lowest university in Victoria. Swinburne also ranks among the top three in Victoria for overall employment rates and full-time medium-term employment rates among undergraduates in the 2024 Graduate Employment Survey and the Graduate Long-term Employment Survey.


In terms of undergraduate student learning experience, Swinburne also ranks among the top three in Victoria in the 2024 Student Experience Survey, with student support and service satisfaction reaching 72.4%, higher than the national average for higher education institutions (70.4%). Postgraduate students also rate Swinburne's student support and services above the national average, with a satisfaction rate of 76.6%.


2. Online admission and payment system is now live
Swinburne has now launched online admission and Flywire online payments. You can now send electronic admission documents to students for digital signature and send payment links to students or their parents through the 'View Required Deposit' feature.


3. Postgraduate healthcare courses

  • The Master of Dietetics equips students with the skills and professional knowledge to work in hospitals, public health, private practice, and more. The course is accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia, combining evidence-based learning with practical experience in clinical, community, and food service environments.
  • The Master of Occupational Therapy provides students with opportunities to further their healthcare knowledge and help improve the lives of patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, or mental health issues. Graduates will be eligible to work as occupational therapists in community, acute care, and rehabilitation settings.
  • The Master of Physiotherapy helps students gain the confidence and ability to hold leadership and management positions in the healthcare system. Students will learn research and evidence-based physiotherapy skills, acquire digital health literacy, and develop business and entrepreneurial thinking.


4. Updated English requirements for the Bachelor of Nursing
Swinburne University has announced updated English language requirements for the Bachelor of Nursing program. The recognized tests and minimum scores are as follows:

  • IELTS: Overall score no less than 7, with listening, reading, and speaking no less than 7, and writing no less than 6.5.
  • PTE Academic: Overall score no less than 66, with listening, reading, and speaking no less than 66, and writing no less than 56.
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score no less than 94, with listening, reading, and writing no less than 24, and speaking no less than 23.
  • OET: Listening, reading, and speaking at least B, and writing at least C+.
  • Cambridge (C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency): Overall score no less than 185, with listening, reading, and speaking no less than 185, and writing no less than 176.

Swinburne tops Victoria for graduate success


Swinburne has ranked first in Victoria for full-time employment and median annual full-time salaries among domestic graduates who completed an undergraduate degree. The latest Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) survey program shows Swinburne’s undergraduates earned a median salary of A$77,900 in 2024, nearly A$10,000 more than the lowest Victorian university.


Swinburne is also among Victoria’s top three for overall employment and full-time medium-term employment among undergraduates in the 2024 Graduate Outcomes Survey and 2024 Graduate Outcomes Survey-Longitudinal respectively.


For undergraduate student experience, Swinburne ranked in Victoria’s top three institutions for student support and services in the 2024 Student Experience Survey. It scored a 72.4% positive rating among undergraduates, which is above the national higher education institution average of 70.4%. Postgraduate students also rated Swinburne’s student support and services above the national average, achieving a 76.6% positive rating.

Postgraduate healthcare courses


Master of Dietetics

Swinburne’s Master of Dietetics equips students with the skills and expertise to work in hospitals, public health, private practice and beyond. Accredited by Dietitians Australia, this course blends evidence-based learning with valuable workplace exposure in clinical, community and food service environments.


Master of Occupational Therapy

Students will be prepared to further their professional healthcare knowledge and help transform the lives of those with neurological, musculoskeletal or mental health issues in Swinburne’s Master of Occupational Therapy. Students will graduate eligible to practice as a qualified occupational therapist in community, acute and rehabilitation settings.


Master of Physiotherapy

In Swinburne’s Master of Physiotherapy, students will gain the confidence and capability to excel in leadership and management positions within the healthcare system. Students will learn physiotherapy skills that are informed by research and evidence, digital health literacy, and business and entrepreneurship.


New Bachelor of Nursing English requirements

Swinburne has announced updated English language requirements for the Bachelor of Nursing. The approved tests and minimum scores have been outlined below.


IELTS (academic paper and computer test at test centre only) with a minimum overall score of 7 and a minimum score of 7 in listening, reading and speaking, and 6.5 in writing.

PTE (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 66 and a minimum score of 66 in listening, reading and speaking, and 56 in writing.

TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 94 and a minimum score of 24 in listening, reading and writing and 23 in speaking.

OET with a minimum score of B in listening, reading and speaking, and a C+ in writing.

Cambridge (C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) with a minimum score of 185 and a minimum score of 185 in listening, reading and speaking, and a 176 in writing.
