Please see the following updates from Curtin University.


1. Master of Nursing Practice, 2026 Second Semester

1 The Master of Nursing Practice course system for 2026 is currently closed.

For applications that have not yet received an offer or are still under review, no further assessment for 2026 will be conducted. If students of this course are still interested in studying at Curtin University, they can choose the following options:

  • Join the waitlist; or
  • Submit a deferral request to postpone the offer/assessment to 2027

2 The deadline for submitting deferral requests is: Friday, October 3, 2025

3 Steps to join the waitlist:

  1. Meet all conditions on the offer letter. A waitlist spot can only be reserved if all conditions are fully met.
  2. Submit a waitlist request. Submit a request through the KOKOS Ask International website to be added to the waitlist. This is a necessary step to temporarily reserve a spot.
  3. Receive confirmation. The Admissions Department will confirm via email whether a spot can be reserved for the student.
  4. Spot notification. If a spot becomes available, the Admissions Department will directly contact eligible students. At that time, students must submit acceptance materials within 5 business days.


4 Applications for 2027 are expected to open in July 2026 (to be confirmed).

2. Graduate Courses: 2026 Approved Prerequisite Courses

Please check the attached latest version of the GEM approved prerequisite course list for 2026.

Master of Nursing Practice now accepts any **Human Biology** unit from any Australian university as a prerequisite course.

3. Master of Teaching - Early Childhood Education Updates

The entry criteria for this course have been updated. Students need to meet the following conditions:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized institution; and
  • At least one year of study background related to early childhood learning, development, and care.

Current offer holders who do not meet the new criteria will be contacted and provided with alternative course options.


4. Courses Discontinued in 2026

Starting from 2026, the following courses will no longer be offered:

  • Master of Global Engagement
  • Master of Global Engagement Advanced


5. Introduction of New Courses in 2026

Starting from 2026, Curtin University will introduce the new Bachelor of Digital Creative Industries to replace:

  • Bachelor of Design (Animation and Game Design)
  • Bachelor of Design (Digital Experience and Interaction Design)

The new course directions include:

  • B.DCI (Game Design and Art)
  • B.DCI (Immersive User-Experience Design)
  • A new major direction: Animation, Visual Effects and Virtual Production



We would like to give you the following updates.

  • MASTER OF NURSING PROGRAM, 2026 EDP2.
    • The application portal is now closed for the above course and study period.
    • No further assessment for 2026 will be done for the applications who haven’t received an offer or were under assessment.
    • If your student is still interested in studying at Curtin University, they have the option to either join the waitlist or defer their offer/assessment to 2027 by submitting a deferral request via our website Ask International. The deadline to defer the offer/assessment is Friday 3 October by COB.
    • To join the waitlist, please follow these steps:
      • Meet all conditions of your offer.No standby places can be held unless all offer conditions are fully satisfied.
      • Request to be added to the waitlist.Submit request via our website Ask International to be included on the list. This is required to provisionally hold their place. Please note that this is a centralised process and all communication will be managed by Admissions through the designated email address.
      • Receive confirmation.Admissions will confirm via email if a standby place can be held for the student.
      • Notification if a place becomes available.Should a place open up, Admissions will contact eligible students directly. You will have five business days to submit your acceptance documents.
    • Applications for 2027 will likely open July 2026 (to be confirmed)

  • GEM Approved Prereq Subjects 2026
    • You will find attached the latest version of GEM approved pre-requisite units for 2026.
    • Master of Nursing Program is now accepting any general Human Bio unit from any Australian university.

  • MC-TEACH Master of Teaching (Early Childhood Education).
    • Entry criteria for this course has been updated. Students need the following:
      • A bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution, with at least one year of study in areas relating to early years learning, development and care.
      • Current offer holders who don’t meet the criteria will be contacted and alternative course options provided to the students.

  • Discontinued courses:
    • Please note that the Master of Global Engagement and Master of Global Engagement Advanced won’t be offered from 2026.

  • New Courses. Training session.
    • Curtin University will be offering the Bachelor of Digital Creative Industries from 2026.
      • This new course will replace:
        • Bachelor of Design (Animation and Game Design)
        • Bachelor of Design (Digital Experience and Interaction Design)
      • The new suite includes:
        • B.DCI (Game Design and Art)
        • B.DCI (Immersive User-Experience Design)
        • Plus, a brand-new major: Animation, Visual Effects and Virtual Production
