With the Semester 2 census date now passed, our admissions cycle for the term has officially concluded. It’s been another successful semester, and this milestone is a testament to the dedication, collaboration, and hard work of our entire team.

Bachelor of Media and Communications – Semester 1, 2026

Due to the high number of applications and acceptances, applications for the Bachelor of Media and Communications for Semester 1, 2026 are now closed.

General Information  

I’d like to remind you that the below list of high-demand programs that have now commenced offer rounds for Semester 1, 2026. Students who become eligible for an unconditional offer will be placed on a waitlist, with offers released during scheduled rounds.

If your students have applied to one of the listed programs and have not yet received an outcome, please be assured that their applications are still under active consideration.

Undergraduate

Update to Admissions Entry Requirements for Applicants Providing Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

Following a comprehensive review of academic entry standards for selected international qualifications, the University has updated its admissions criteria for applicants providing Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

Effective immediately for Semester 1, 2026 and beyond, applicants presenting the OSSD who completed the qualification will be assessed according to a revised academic assessment schedule.

English Entry Requirements Update for Applicants providing the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

English proficiency will now be assessed under the following conditions:

  • English will be accepted via Medium of Instruction (MOI) only for vetted partner schools located in countries where English is the official language, including our partner school, Sunway College Malaysia.
  • Applicants who have completed the OSSD outside of Canada or in a non-English-speaking country will be required to submit valid English language proficiency test results (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, PTE) to meet the University of Sydney’s minimum English language requirements.

GCE A Level Certificate SAP

In order to streamline the process for applicants with the below GCE A Level qualification and who can only provide the Online Candidate Statement:

  • Pearson Edexcel
  • Cambridge taken in the Bahamas, Botswana, Brunei, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mauritius and Namibia

These applicants can now apply for Special Admissions Process in order to receive an Unconditional offer with the Candidate Statement report. Applicants are still required to provide the official GCE A Level Certificate once is issued.

Pearson Edexcel applicants who can provide the Provisional Statement with the “Heat Sensitive Spot” and watermark are eligible for Unconditional offer and are not required to apply for SAP.


Postgraduate

PG New Degree Update

As advised in our previous Admissions update, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) has been finalising administrative changes for the 2026 intakes. We are pleased to inform you that the following new suite of degrees have been launched to replace the Postgraduate Education programs from Semester 1, 2026:

Students who applied for the Master of Education programs or embedded Graduate Certificate/Graduate Diploma prior to the launch of the new degrees will be contacted in the coming days to be advised of the next steps and to receive support with the process.

Reminder 1: Application Closing Date for Master of Nutrition and Dietetics – Semester 1, 2026

Applications for the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics program for Semester 1, 2026 will close on 17 October 2025.

Students are strongly encouraged to apply early to allow sufficient time for prerequisite assessments and to make any necessary arrangements to meet entry requirements — even if you are currently completing a relevant degree.


Reminder 2: Round 2 and 3 application deadlines for Master of Nursing – Semester 1, 2026

Round 2 application deadline for Master of Nursing Semester 1, 2026 is Sunday 05 October 2025, and all necessary documents to be submitted by Friday 17 October 2025 to be considered in Round 2.

Round 3 application deadline for Master of Nursing Semester 1, 2026 is Sunday 07 December 2025, and all necessary documents to be submitted by Sunday 14 December 2025 to be considered in Round 3.

Should this course reach its capacity prior to the scheduled date for each round, Sydney Nursing School may reserve the right not to proceed. Students are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible for Round 2, to allow sufficient time for visa arrangements etc.

CET Packages for Graduate Diploma / Graduate Certificate Programs

Students who receive a conditional offer for a Graduate Diploma based on English requirements may be eligible to package their offer with CET (Centre for English Teaching) programs, subject to availability.

For the Graduate Certificate, if a student receives a conditional offer with an English requirement but the offer condition does not include the option to package with a CET program, and the student is interested in this option, please contact relevant Recruitment Manager for further assistance.

Note: These dates are subject to course availability and may close earlier if course capacity is reached.

*Exceptions may apply depending on course capacity and visa processing times as reviewed on the dates listed above.
