The University of Melbourne regarding the second semester of 2025

The University of Melbourne is aware that some students' visa applications are progressing slowly. To facilitate their smooth arrival on campus,

the University of Melbourne will uniformly allow students to complete registration and arrive by Sunday, August 10, 2025, to officially start classes on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Please note: Some courses are not applicable for this delayed arrival arrangement (see the course list below for details).

1. If students have not received their visa by July 21, 2025

Please assist in filling out the student visa enquiry form and provide the following information:

• Email subject: Late arrival to Melbourne
• Enquiry content: Student's full name, student ID, course name, stating that the visa is still under review

2. Students must complete the enrollment preparation process

Please ensure that students have completed the school'sGet Startedenrollment steps and all related administrative registration procedures. Although late arrival is allowed, the school will not provide special academic consideration due to late arrival.

3. Courses not applicable for delayed arrival

The following courses are not applicable for this extension policy:

• Master of Applied Positive Psychology

Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences:

• Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours)
• Master of Biomedical Science

Faculty of Science:

• Master of Science (Biosciences)
• Master of Science (Chemistry)
• Master of Geoscience

Late arrival information for students

The University of Melbourne would like to extend our appreciation again to the work your team is currently doing to support our future student community joining us in Melbourne for the start of Semester 2, 2025.

We are aware that visa applications for some of our commencing students are delayed and to facilitate their arrival to campus, the University of Melbourne will be allowing a general extension (*course exclusions apply) for our students to beenrolled and arrive before Sunday 10 August 2025, ready to commence classes by Monday 11 August 2025.

If your student is still waiting on their visa application by 21 July 2025, please let us know by completing thestudent visa enquiry form. Make sure to include the following information:

• Subject: Late arrival to Melbourne
• Enquiry description: Full name, student ID number, course name, and a note that the student visa application outcome is pending.

As always, your students should refer to theGet Startedpages and ensure they have already set up their student accounts and complete the administrative enrolment. Whilst the extension is in place, special consideration will not be granted based on late arrival.
