Please check out a series of new courses that ECU (Edith Cowan University) is about to launch in 2025 and 2026.

1. Master of Social Work (Qualifying) - S10

Offered in the second semester of 2025, Joondalup Campus

This course is suitable for students from all undergraduate backgrounds, aiming to train them to become professionally qualified social workers with the ability to work in Australia and internationally. The course is taught by experienced faculty and includes 1,000 hours of supervised internships, helping students accumulate real work experience and enhance their employment competitiveness.

  • Duration: 2 years full-time
  • Location: Joondalup Campus, Western Australia
  • English requirements: IELTS overall score of 7.0, with no band less than 7.0
  • Background requirements: All applicants must hold a three-year undergraduate degree in a related field (not in social work)*, including at least one year of full-time study in social sciences (*including courses in human services, social sciences, behavioral sciences, counseling, and psychological sciences, etc.).
  • Bridging course: Students without a background can apply for the 1-year Postgraduate Qualifying Program - PQP
  • Intake: Second semester only (July)
  • Accreditation: Provisional accreditation by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Applicable scholarships: International students can apply for up to a 20% tuition fee reduction (determined upon assessment) International student practicum grant AUD $3,000


2. Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching - O12

Offered in the second semester of 2025, Joondalup Campus

This one-year course is designed for career changers and is suitable for students with an undergraduate degree in any discipline. Graduates will be qualified to teach children aged 0 to 8, meeting the high demand for early childhood education professionals in Australia and globally.

  • Duration: 1 year full-time
  • Delivery method: On-campus (Joondalup): For students on a student visa Online (including offline practicum): For students residing in Australia but not on a student visa
  • English requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0, or an undergraduate degree from a country officially recognized
  • Accreditation: Accredited by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Scholarship: Eligible to apply for the 'International Student Early Childhood Teaching Diploma Scholarship' for a 20% tuition fee reduction


3. Bachelor of Business Analytics - Y00
Offered in 2026, ECU City Campus

This three-year course aims to equip students with core competencies in business analytics, data processing, artificial intelligence, and strategic management, preparing data-driven decision-makers for high-growth industries.

  • Duration: 3 years full-time
  • Entry requirements: Completion of secondary education and meeting other admission criteria (see official website for details)
  • Scholarships: Students starting in 2026 can apply for the ECU City Campus Welcome Scholarship AUD $5,000 International students can apply for up to a 20% tuition fee reduction (determined upon assessment)



New for Semester 2, 2025 – Joondalup Campus

Help your students turn their passion for social justice into a global career.

This two-year program is open to students from any undergraduate background and prepares graduates to work as professional social workers in Australia and internationally. Delivered by experienced academics, the course includes 1,000 hours of supervised field placements – giving students real-world experience and strong employability outcomes.

$3,000 Practicum Bursary available for international students on a student visa.

International students may be eligible for a scholarship of up to 20%, assessed during the application process.
Course Details

  • Duration: 2 years full-time.
  • Delivery: On-campus at Joondalup (WA).
  • Entry Requirements: Recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Students not meeting academic or English entry may be eligible via ECU's Post-Graduate Qualifying Program (Social Work) at ECC.
  • English: IELTS 7.0 (no band below 7.0) or equivalent.
  • Intake: July only (Semester 2).
  • Accreditation: Provisionally Accredited by: Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)



New for Semester 2, 2025 – Joondalup Campus

Inspire the next generation with a career in early childhood education.

This one-year program is designed for career changers and is open to students with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. It equips graduates with the skills and qualifications to teach children from birth to eight years – a high-demand area in Australia and globally.

For students already based in Australia, the course can be completed online (with practicum placements arranged close to their location) if they are studying on a visa other than a student visa.

ECU's NEW Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood (O12) Teaching International Scholarship offers a 20% reduction in tuition fees for eligible international students.
