The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) is about to reach the cap for the total enrollment of international students in 2025. Therefore, our focus will now shift to evaluating all existing applicants for the 2026 intake, with some exceptions.

🟡 Note for international student applicants for 2025:

🔒 Applications for the remaining semesters of 2025 are now closed for all courses.


📌 UNSW will issue a very limited number of supplementary offers for Term 3, 2025. The following applicants will be prioritized:

  • Students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs at UNSW and applying for postgraduate courses
  • Sponsored students

📌 Students who have received **conditional offers (language and GTE)** still have valid offers. We encourage these students to meet the admission conditions as soon as possible to avoid the offers expiring.


📌 Students who have received a packaged offer from UNSW College and plan to enroll at UNSW in Term 3, 2025 will not be affected.


📌 Other 2025 applicants not in the above priority categories will be evaluated for the next available semester in 2026. Eligible students will start receiving offers from Thursday, June 26, 2025. UNSW will notify these applicants today.


🟡Requests to defer acceptance of offers for 2025 will no longer be accepted

📌 Students are encouragedto accept their offers on time.

📌 Only students for the 2026 semester can apply for deferred admission.

📌 Students applying for Study Abroad or non-degree programs are not affected, and their application process and deadlines remain unchanged.

🟡 Regarding the issuance of 2026 offers

The offer issuance schedule for students who have applied for the 2026 intake will be announced in the coming weeks.

Important update about UNSW Sydney 2025 intakes

UNSW Sydney is nearing its 2025 capacity for total international student enrolments. Accordingly, our focus will now shift to assessing all existing applications for 2026 study start dates, with a few exceptions.

What this means for 2025 international applicants

Applications for remaining 2025 intakes are now closed for all programs.


UNSW Sydney will make very limited additional offers for theTerm 3, 2025intake. Current UNSW undergraduate students who have applied for UNSW postgraduate study and sponsored students will be prioritised for remainingTerm 3, 2025places. These offers will continue to be released on a rolling basis.


Existing conditional offers (English & GTE) remain valid, and we encourage these offer holders to meet the conditions of their offer as soon as possible and prior to their offer expiring

Existing UNSW College students with a packaged offer to study inTerm 3, 2025at UNSW remain unaffected.

Any 2025 applicants who are not a part of the above prioritised categories will now be assessed for the next available 2026 intake. Offers for eligible students will be released fromThursday, 26 June 2025. Applicants will receive communication from UNSW today informing them of this update.

Late acceptance extension requests will no longer be approved for 2025 and we encourage students to accept their offer on-time.

Deferments are only available to 2026 intakes.

Study abroad and non-award students are not impacted and processes and deadlines for this cohort remain the same.
