Queensland University of Technology Master of Education language reduction update (within 2 years before admission, completing a 2-year undergraduate or postgraduate degree (combined diplomas are acceptable) in a recognized country can reduce the language requirement)

Please check an important update regarding the English language requirements for the Master of Teaching program at QUT Queensland University of Technology.
Starting from 2026, the following students willno longer need to provide IELTS scores (original requirements: overall 7.5, listening 8, reading 7, writing 7, speaking 8), to meet the language requirements for all Master of Teaching courses at QUT (covering early childhood education, primary education, and secondary education):
- Students who have completed two years of full-time postgraduate study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, the UK, or the USA and achieved a passing grade
- Students who have completed two years of full-time undergraduate study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, the UK, or the USA and achieved a passing grade
- From now on, the combined duration of undergraduate and postgraduate studies will also be accepted.
Please note: The above studies must be completedwithin two years before enrolling at QUT.

Iam pleased to share some great news regarding English proficiency recognition for our Master of Teaching course.
Effective from 2026, students who have completed2 years of full-time postgraduate studywith a passing GPA in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom, or the United States of America will meet the English language proficiency requirements for all Master of Teaching courses (Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary) at QUT. They will no longer be required to provide IELTS 7.5(L8,R7,W7,S8).
This is in addition to the current recognition of2 years of full-time undergraduate studyfrom the same countries.
A combination of both postgraduate and undergraduate study will also be acceptable from now on.
Please note these studies must have been completed within two years of commencing at QUT.
