1. Swinburne University performs excellently in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject
Swinburne University has shown outstanding performance in the newly released 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject, with a total of 17 disciplines entering the authoritative list.
Among them, Art and Design continues to rank in the top 150 globally, while Architecture and Built Environment has risen to the top 200 globally.
Media and Communication as well as Physics and Astronomy have entered the top 250 globally, while Civil and Structural Engineering ranks in the top 275 globally. Additionally, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials Science have all entered the top 300 globally.
Education ranks 301-350, showing improvement from 351-400 in 2024.
Professor Karen Hapgood, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Swinburne University, said: 'Swinburne University continues to provide high-quality education and world-leading scientific research achievements. Although rankings are just one indicator of our success, these results highlight the positive impact of our strategic focus.'
The 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject are based on an in-depth analysis of the reputation and research achievements of over 5,200 higher education institutions worldwide.
2. Travel Grant for Offshore Students
All newly enrolled offshore students who accept their offer for the second semester by May 31, 2025, will be eligible for a travel grant of AUD 900:
- This is a one-time rebate, which will be directly deducted from the student's tuition fees for the next semester;
- This grant can be enjoyed concurrently with other scholarships without conflict.
4. Introduction of New Course: Master of Educational Leadership
Swinburne University of Technology has launched a new course—Master of Educational Leadership, designed for students aspiring to hold leadership positions in the education sector, aiming to equip them with confident, clear, and empathetic leadership abilities.
Course Highlights:
- Taught by world-class industry experts;
- Diverse teaching formats, including: master classes, personalized guidance, special lectures, and practical workshops;
- Combines modern educational leadership theory with practical applications, providing real industry insights;
- In the later stages of the course, students will collaborate with assigned mentors to undertake a small research project and apply the knowledge gained to real educational work scenarios.
Graduation Prospects: Graduates will be capable of holding leadership positions in diverse educational environments, including but not limited to:
- Early childhood education institutions
- Primary and secondary schools
- Other educational organizations
Packaged Course Combinations:
Students can choose to apply for the following courses as a two-year packaged study program:
- Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Teaching
- Master of Educational Leadership
After completing the Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Teaching, students can directly enter the master's stage without reapplying, and upon graduation, they will receive two postgraduate qualification certificates.
5. Master of Finance Course
Swinburne University's newly upgradedMaster of Finance courseis designed to provide students with core knowledge in finance, banking, investment, and analysis, enabling them to make informed financial decisions and propose strategic investment advice.
Course Highlights:
- Systematically master core financial knowledge: covering financial markets, investment strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Insight into market trends: critically analyze financial markets and investment landscapes.
