Due to limited spaces, the January 2026 intake will adopt the following admission process to provide you with clear instructions before applications open onMonday, April 7, 2025.
Key Admission StepsFirst, please refer to the academic and English language proficiency requirements listed in the Western Sydney University Student Handbook (attached) to confirm whether the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.
- Domestic (Australia) ApplicantsMust meet the academic and English language requirements before submitting the application. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- International (Outside Australia) ApplicantsIf you have not yet obtained English test results, you can submit academic materials first for preliminary assessment.
- Applications from domestic and international applicants will be processed simultaneously.
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will only be considered for applicants who have met all admission requirements.
- All domestic applicants who receive conditional offers (i.e., can accept the offer and pay the deposit) must continue to enroll in their current course and maintain satisfactory academic progress from the acceptance date to November 2025 to enroll in the Master of Nursing Practice (Preregistration) course in January 2026.
- Applicants required to complete the 'Preparation for Tertiary Nursing Studies (PTNS)' course must complete it by the close of business on Friday, May 30, 2025. Those who fail to complete the course by the deadline will not be considered for the January 2026 intake.
- PTNS results successfully completed in 2024 will be recognized.
- Once applicants receive an unconditional or conditional offer, they must complete acceptance and payment within10 working days. The course has strictly limited places, allocated on afirst-come, first-servedbasis.
- If acceptance and payment are completed after all places are filled, applicants may be allocated to another campus (if available).
- If the application is rejected and the applicant provides supplementary materials not included in the initial application for reassessment, the system will process it withthe lowest priority, and the processing time will be significantly extended (over four weeks).
- Please ensure to submita complete application, including all academic and English proof documents.
- Domestic applicants who have completed or are about to complete their first master's program in Australia willnot beeligible to apply.
- However, if the applicant is currently enrolled in a master's program and plans to transfer without completing it, they may be considered for admission.

TheMaster of Nursing Practice (Preregistration)offers students a great way to develop the essential practical skills and knowledge and gain full accreditation to work as a Registered Nurse in Australia.
Due to limited spaces, the January 2026 intake will use the following admissions process to ensure clarity before applications open on Monday 7 April 2025.
Follow these critical admission steps for successful application processing:
- Ensure applicants are eligible to apply by checking the academic and English language proficiency requirements in theWestern Sydney University Handbook. Onshore applicants must meet both academic and English language proficiency requirements before submitting an application. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Offshore applicants can submit academic documents for initial assessment if their English proficiency assessment result is not yet available.
- Applications from both onshore and offshore applicants will be processed at the same time.
- Confirmation of Enrolments will only be considered for applicants who have met all admission requirements.
- Onshore applicants who receive conditional offers (i.e. offers that are available for acceptance and deposit payment) must stay enrolled in their current program (between the acceptance date and November 2025) and achieve satisfactory academic progress to commence the Master of Nursing Practice (Preregistration) in January 2026.
- Applicants required to complete the Preparation for Tertiary Nursing Studies (PTNS) short course, must complete the course by close of business on Friday 30 May 2025. Applicants who fail to complete by this deadline will not be considered for the January 2026 Master of Nursing Practice (Preregistration) intake.Successful completion of PTNS from 2024 is accepted.
- Upon receiving an unconditional or conditional offer, applicants have 10 working days to accept and pay. This program has a strict limit on available places, which are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If an applicant’s acceptance and payment are received after all places are filled, they may be offered an alternative campus if spots are available.
- Reassessment requests for unsuccessful or rejected applications, when submitted with supplementary documents not included in the original application, will be processed with the lowest priority and will experience significant delays, exceeding four weeks. Please submit complete applications with all required academic and English assessment documents.
- Onshore applicants who have completed or are finalising their first master's program at an Australian institution are ineligible for the Master of Nursing Practice (Preregistration). However, applicants currently enrolled in a master’s program and seeking to transfer without completion will be considered.
