Currently, UNSW Sydney is still acceptingwithin Australiainternational student applications for Term 2, 2025, and all international student applications for Term 3, 2025. Our current application processing time is within two weeks. This improvement helps offset the uncertainty brought by visa approval times.

Additionally, applications for 2026 are now open. The first round of admission notices is expected to be released in early May 2025. We encourage current applicants to check and update their application materials and supporting documents.



1 Accepting predicted grades for issuing formal admission notices

We have updated our policy on predicted grades, expanding the range of acceptable qualifications and optimizing the assessment process. UNSW can now issue formal admission notices based on predicted grades for the following qualifications:

  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • UK A-Level
  • Indian CBSE
  • Singapore A-Level
  • NCUK
  • South African NSC

For students completing specified language courses, the deadline for accepting the admission notice can be extended until the language course is completed.


Important Notes:

  • To receive a formal admission notice based on predicted grades, the scores must be at least 2 points higher than the standard admission requirements, and all other conditions must be met;
  • Students must submit their final grades before the commencement date;
  • If the final grades do not meet the requirements, students may need to: transfer to a course with lower requirements, or choose a pathway course offered by UNSW College, or consider other study options outside the university.

Predicted grades material requirements:

For applications for Term 3, 2025,the predicted grades letter must be issued in or after November 2024, and meet the following requirements:

  • Printed on the school's official letterhead
  • Stamped with the school's official seal
  • Signed by the Registrar, Principal, or Counselor
  • Includes the student's name and date of birth
  • Indicates the expected graduation date


2 Applicants with SAT / AP / ACT scores

For Term 3, 2025, if students meet the course admission standards with SAT, AP, or ACT scores, they can receive a formal or language conditional admission notice before submitting their high school graduation grades.
Students need to submit their final grades and graduation certificate before the commencement date. Once obtained, please submit them as soon as possible to facilitate timely visa application processing.

Additional requirement – Proof of enrollment or expected graduation letter

In addition to submitting standardized scores through College Board, students must also submit a proof letter from their school, which must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Printed on the school's official letterhead
  • Stamped with the school's official seal
  • Includes the student's full name and date of birth
  • Specifies the current grade (e.g., Year 11/12)
  • Indicates the expected graduation date
  • Specifies the name of the final qualification or exam (e.g., US High School Diploma, Chinese High School Graduation Certificate, Indonesian SMA Certificate)

Applicability

This policy only applies to students completing Year 12 high school qualifications recognized by UNSW.

Not applicable in the following cases:

  • Post-secondary diplomas
  • Foundation programs
  • Unregistered/informal homeschooling
  • GEDi
  • Singapore Polytechnic
  • Canadian OSSD completed online
  • Other bridging or preparatory courses

3 More flexible deferral application process

Based on your feedback, we have optimized the deferral application process. Now


students can apply for deferral in the following ways:

  • Students who have received a formal admission notice: can submit a deferral request through the Accept Online system;
  • Students who have received a conditional admission notice: can submit a deferral application through the Ask Admissions online form.

Please note, deferral is not automatically approved, and all applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

If approved, the maximum deferral period is one year.




We are pleased to share some positive updates to assist you in supporting your students when applying to UNSW Sydney.

The roll-out of our new admission process has been hugely successful in bringing down application processing times and we hope that the service improvement has provided reassurance to both you and your students as we enter a crucial phase for 2025 recruitment.

UNSW Sydney remains open for applications from onshore international students in
Term 2, 2025and all international students inTerm 3, 2025. We are currently processing applications within a two-week timeline. Our improvements to application processing go a long way in offsetting visa outcome times.

Further to this, applications for 2026 are open. The first round of offers is scheduled for early May 2025. We encourage current applicants to review their submissions to ensure applications and supporting documents are all up to date.

I would like to share with you four key updates:

  • Acceptance of predicted grades

  • Enhanced flexibility for deferral requests
  • Predicted Grades Accepted for Full Offers

    We have altered our policy around predicted grades to widen the qualifications that we accept and have improved the process of assessment. UNSW now accepts predicted grades for full offers for the following qualifications:

  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • A-Levels
  • Indian CBSE
  • Singapore A-levels
  • NCUK
  • South African NSC
    Students who are completing an approved external English language program can request an extension of their offer deadline until their course is finished.

    Required Documentation

    Predicted grades for Term 3, 2025 must be provided on a letter from the school that is issued on or after November 2024 and that:


    is printed on official school letterhead

    bears the official school seal

    is signed by the Registrar, Principal, or School Counsellor

    includes the student’s name and date of birth

    states the expected graduation date


    Applicants who hold SAT/AP/ACT results

    ForTerm 3, 2025, students who meet program entry requirements based on their SAT, AP, or ACT results are now eligible to receive a full or conditional on English offer ahead of their final high school result and proof of and completion of high school studies. Results and proof of high school completion will be required no later than the UNSW term commencement date and must be submitted as soon as they become available. This change aims to support students in lodging timely visa applications and re-establishes opportunity for your undergraduate students inTerm 3, 2025.


    Additional Requirement – Enrolment or Expected Graduation Letter


  • In addition to sharing SAT/AP/ACT results with UNSW via the College Board portal, students must submit a letter from their school meeting the following minimum criteria:
  • printed on official school letterhead
  • bears the official seal of the school
  • includes the student’s full name and date of birth
  • specifies the current stage of study (e.g., Year 11/12)
  • states the expected graduation date
  • specifies the name of the final award or test (e.g., US High School Diploma, Chinese High School Graduation Certificate, Indonesian SMA Certificate)
  • Eligibility
  • This assessment policy is only available for students completing Year 12 high school qualifications recognised by UNSW for direct entry. It excludes:
  • post-secondary diplomas
  • foundation programs
  • unregistered/informal home-schooling up to Year 12
  • GEDi
  • Singapore polytechnics
  • Canadian OSSD delivered online
  • any other bridging or access program
  • One U Education is not a Registered Training Organisation, each course listed on  website or marketing material will include course codes and details of the Registered Training Organisation delivering the course.
