Please see below for updates from the University of Sydney's language program.

1. Upcoming Direct Entry Course (DEC) and Graduate Academic Skills (GAS) courses

You should have received the latest admission update from the University of Sydney, notifying that we have reached 80% of the government's defined new student visa threshold for 2025. (Please note, this percentage does not reflect the admission capacity of each program at the University of Sydney.)The government advises,the visa application processing time for 2025 may take 12-16 weeks. Although CET's "payment deadline" is8 weeksbefore the course starts, we strongly recommend students complete their enrollment, accept the CET offer, and pay the course fees as early as possible to avoid visa delays.

2. Direct Entry Course (DEC)

Next application and payment deadline:March 28, 2025 (for DEC 5 and GAS courses)


Please ensure the following documents are submitted for the issuance of the offer letter:
1️⃣ A University of Sydney offer letter conditional only on English, and applicable to the intended semester.
2️⃣ A copy of the current valid passport.
3️⃣ The latest official English language test score report.


Due to the long processing time for student visa applications, we cannot extend the payment deadline.

Applications not completed by the deadline will not be processed and will automatically be deferred to the next available intake.


3. Applications for the first semester of 2026 Direct Entry Course (DEC) are now open

DEC15, DEC10, DEC5 are now open for applications, leading to the first semester of 2026 degree courses.

This list helps you understand which package courses are currently full or have limited available spots with strict quotas. Please

note, course availability is constantly changing, and there is no guarantee of available spots at the time of application.

3. Graduate Academic Skills (GAS)

The GAS course is suitable for students who have received an unconditional offer and is highly recommended for those who wish to be fully prepared before their official enrollment.

Next GAS course application and payment deadline: March 28, 2025

Documents required for GAS course application

Although we still cannot apply for offshore language courses, we have translated and shared this information with everyone first, and we will continue to work hard~

Upcoming intakes Direct Entry Course (DEC) and Graduate Academic Skills (GAS)


In our January update we introduced theAustralian Government's Ministerial Direction 111 (MD111)and the impact of the priority processing of student visas. You would have now received The University'sAdmission updateadvising we have reached 80% of visas in effect for the government's definition of new commencing students' threshold for 2025.(Please note that this percentage is not a reflection of the capacity of each program at the University of Sydney).

Advice has been received that current visa process time for 2025 may be 12-16 weeks. CET's "Payment Deadlines" remains at 8-weeks before "Start Dates", however, we strongly recommend students complete their enrolment, by accepting our CET Offer and making payment for their CET course, as early as possible.

The next application/payment deadline is28 March 2025 for DEC 5 and GAS.

Please ensure you provide the following documentation to issue an offer letter:

1. A University Offeronly conditionalonEnglishand valid for theintended Semester.

2. A current valid copy of your passport.

3. Current and most recent official English language test result.

Due to student visa application processing time taking longer, we are unable to extend the payment deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered beyond the payment deadline, it will be deferred automatically to next available intake.

New and existing applications can be accessed via ourAgent Portal. Please use theAgent Portalfor uploading additional documentation for existing applications.

Opening Applications for Semester 1 2026

Applications for DEC15, DEC10, DEC5 leading to Semester 1, 2026, are now open.

CET Direct Entry Course (DEC) Package Courses

2026 is now listed in theCET DEC Package Availabilityspreadsheet. The list aims to provide guidance on CET DEC Package Course Availability that are“Full”or“Currently Open (Strict Quota Applied)”. It is important to note that CET DEC Package Course Availability“Currently Open (Strict Quota Applied)”are continuously changing and there is no guarantee a place will be available at the time of application.

Graduate Academic Skills (GAS)

A reminder GAS is available for your client/s with anunconditional offer. GAS is strongly recommended for those who want to be prepared before they commence their degree. The next GAS application/payments deadline is28 March 2025.
