Important Updates for the University of New South Wales 2025
UNSW Sydney

Please check the important updates regarding UNSW 2025 admissions and enrollment. To optimize the adjustments made in 2024, UNSW has further simplified our processes, aiming to provide clearer guidance and help manage your students' expectations.
1 Admission Rounds
UNSW will continue to issue offer letters on specific dates in 2025, with offer letters for undergraduate and postgraduate courses being issued on alternating weeks.
For important dates, including admission rounds and deadlines, please check the UNSW 2025 International Admissions FAQ page:
UNSW 2025 International Admission FAQ page:https://www.unsw.edu.au/study/international-students/2025-admissions?mc_cid=f4236d271f&mc_eid=9378fb249f
To be considered for a particular admission round, applicants must submit a complete application by the relevant deadline.
If the application materials are incomplete before the final submission date of the semester, the application will not meet the admission requirements and will be rejected.
2 Conditional Offers
UNSW will issue conditional offer letters based on English language proficiency during regular admission rounds.
These offer letters will have a deadline by which students must meet the conditions: either by submitting English test scores or enrolling in the UNSW College's UEEC course.
Students completing approved external English language programs can apply to extend the deadline of their offer letter until the end of the course.
3 Offer Validity
Please note the following significant changes regarding offer validity.
- Unconditional offer holders: Full offer holders will now have 21 days to accept the offer within the validity period.
- Conditional offer holders: Conditional offer holders will have 8 weeks (56 days) to meet their offer conditions, whether by submitting English language scores or confirming enrollment in the UNSW College's UEEC course and accepting the offer. Students completing approved external English language courses can apply to extend the deadline of their offer letter until the end of the course.
- Once the conditions are met and the conditional offer is accepted, students will receive a full offer, including our standard 21-day acceptance period.
4 Deferral
Due to the uncertain visa processing times for international students, UNSW has provided provisions for deferring enrollment for students who do not receive their visa results in time.
Students who have accepted an offer, received a COE, and have not yet received a visa decision before the semester starts can apply to defer their enrollment to the next available semester.
Students who have not yet accepted an offer but wish to defer their admission can submit a deferral request, but please note that deferral applications are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If allowed, the admission deferral can only be extended for up to one year.
5, 2025 Semester 1 Late Arrangement
Due to visa processing delays, we have provided some flexible enrollment dates for students in the first semester of 2025.
If your student is expected to arrive shortly after the semester starts due to visa processing delays, they should first contact the UNSW Nucleus. Depending on the outcome, they will need to contact the course coordinator to confirm late arrival arrangements.
If a student cannot arrive shortly after the semester starts, they must defer their enrollment to the next available semester.
Please refer to the above advice regarding deferral.
