In the past 7 month, the China Center of ANU has visited multiple cities, participating in various events hosted by government agencies and enterprises, with the expectation of introducing ANU's educational philosophy and university services to different audiences through different methods.


As the only university in Australia established with funding from the federal government,The Australian National University (ANU)has been committed to leading Australia's academic development and cultivating research talents capable of addressing global challenges since its establishment in 1946. ANU has alwaysregarded students as the core of educationnot only striving to provide cutting-edge knowledge but also empowering students through comprehensive services, enabling them to deeply understand the constantly changing world, rapidly developing industries, and the job market.


In China,the Australian National University China Centersuccessfully launched the university-enterprise cooperation project -“Australia” in the Workplacebroadly established a corporate network, providing ANU Chinese studentswith abundant internship and employment opportunitieswhile promoting close ties between the corporate world and academia. University-enterprise cooperation is an important way to cultivate globally competitive talents, aligning with ANU's strategy to cultivate top talents globally. The China Center has also improved the quality of its platform through its own practices and exchanges with students and enterprises, striving to elevate university-enterprise cooperation to new heights.


In the hot July just past, colleagues from the China Center were invited to Shanghai, Ningbo, and Suzhou to participate in university-enterprise dialogues and received multiple awards on behalf of the Australian National University China Center.

Activity Highlight One:

Australia-China Emerging Leaders Summit ACELS 17


Representatives from the China Center, including Shanghai Office Manager Wendy, engaged in dialogue with other participants, sharing personal stories and work experiences from both Australia and China, and discussing career development issues. The discussion covered how universities and their overseas offices support alumni in facing the differences and challenges of career development in Australia and China, how students and alumni can utilize school resources to seek experiences, job opportunities, and networking in different cultural environments, and other key areas.



Activity Highlight Two:

Shanghai Lingang New Area Management Committee and Zhaopin jointly organized the 'Gathering in Lingang, Building the Future - 2024 University Tour of Lingang' series of activities


Over the three-day event, ANU China Center, as the only invited Australian university representative, experienced the urban planning of the Lingang New Area and visited new enterprises settling in Lingang alongside more than 90 domestic excellent universities and 10 other overseas universities. The event introduced the advantages and benefits for overseas university talents joining Lingang provided by various enterprises and the government. ANU representative Wendy participated in a roundtable discussion on the theme of 'Charting the Employment Blueprint for University Students under the AI Wave', alongside representatives from the Lingang New Area Management Committee, East China Normal University, and the Innovation Institute of Microsatellite of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.


During the roundtable discussion, Wendy shared insights on ANU's cutting-edge disciplines in engineering, computing, and cybersecurity, the advantages of ANU's interdisciplinary education, ANU China Center's career development support, and the international perspective and multicultural environment provided by overseas universities. The discussion focused on how ANU leverages AI technology to empower traditional professional education and cultivate a new generation of globally competitive talents in the AI era.

Activity Highlight Three:

Launch of the Talent Introduction Strategy for Overseas Universities in Changning District, Shanghai, and the 2024 Overseas Talent Demand Matching Meeting for Key Enterprises.


During the event, ANU Shanghai Office Manager Wendy visited the Shanghai Hongqiao Overseas Talent One-Stop Service Center and discussed future cooperation opportunities and models with Bosch, China Eastern Airlines, Ctrip, and other enterprises during a university-enterprise lunch exchange.



Activity Highlight Four:

The 2nd University-Enterprise Cooperation Conference of Ningbo Qianwan New Area - Kanglong Biochemical


ANU China Center and nearly a hundred teachers and students from 28 high-quality universities at home and abroad attended the conference, witnessing the deepening development of university-enterprise cooperation. ANU was honored with the 'Outstanding University-Enterprise Cooperation Award for Overseas Universities' at the conference, recognizing the university's efforts in promoting international exchanges and cooperation and encouraging future deepening cooperation.

Activity Highlight Five:

Screen Technology, AI Future - The 11th University-Enterprise Partnership Conference and the 2024 BOE University-Enterprise Cooperation Forum


The 2024 BOE University-Enterprise Cooperation Forum, themed around innovative technology and sustainable development, invited 93 universities from home and abroad to witness the birth of several important cooperation results. Sunny LI, Student Affairs Manager of ANU China Center, as the only invited senior representative of an overseas university, participated in a roundtable discussion with the University of Science and Technology of China, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dalian University of Technology, and Sichuan University, delving deeply into the topic of 'New Measures in University-Enterprise Cooperation for Promoting Employment and How the Advantages of University Disciplines Can Precisely Meet Corporate Research and Talent Needs'. ANU China Center was awarded the 'Best Employment Cooperation Award' at the forum and was invited to join the 'New Display Technology Alliance', a recognition of the achievements of both parties' cooperation and an open door for more outstanding ANU students' job search.

In addition, Nancy YU, Director of ANU China Center, as a representative of Australian universities and a council member of the Australia China Business Council, was invited to attend a closed-door briefing by the ambassador, the Australia-China Youth Leaders Summit, and the 'Never-Ending Service Trade Fair' Australia Special Session and the 2024 China (Beijing) Australia Green Economy Cooperation Roundtable in July and made speeches.
