In theTimes Higher Education World University Rankings (THE) released this week, La Trobe University has once again achieved excellent results, rankingsteadilyin the global 251-300.
Especially inthe research citation indicatorLa Trobe'sranking has risen by 27 places,highlighting the university's strong strength in the field of research. This achievement further consolidates La Trobe's position as one of the world's leading higher education institutions.
La Trobe University President Professor Theo Farrell highly praised this outstanding achievement, calling it the result of the joint efforts of the entire university community, and once again proving the university's excellent performance on the global education stage.

"Against the backdrop of many challenges facing global higher education, La Trobe University has been able to remain steadily in the global 251-300 for three consecutive years, especially with a significant improvement in research citation rankings, fully demonstrating our commitment to promoting research with global impact, addressing important issues in today's world."
Global rankings achieve new heights
It is worth mentioning that in theQS World University Rankingsreleased in June this year, La Trobe University also achieved its best historical result, winning the"Most Progressive Award in Oceania", this honor recognizes the university's ranking jump of 183 places in the past five years, now ranked 217th among the top 1,500 universities in the world*.

In this THE ranking, La Trobe's steady performance once again proves the university's outstanding achievements in core areas such as teaching, research, international cooperation, and social contribution. Asthe fourth-ranked university in Victoria,La Trobe University continues to make significant contributions to solving major global issues through world-class research and teaching, further consolidating its leading position in the international higher education field.
Professor Farrell also mentioned that although international rankings are just one of many standards for measuring university quality, they are still one of the key indicators for comparing global universities. "I believe La Trobe University will continue to improve its global ranking in the coming years, consolidating our international status."
International cooperation and research impact
La Trobe University's research impact was fully demonstrated during a recent trip to India. Victoria State Premier and La Trobe alumnus Jacinta Allan led this higher education delegation, with La Trobe President Professor Farrell also participating, and engaged in cooperation with several institutions in India.

During this visit, La Trobe University signed a letter of intent with the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), supported by the Indian government, agreeing to promote collaborative research and entrepreneurship in India and Melbourne. In addition, La Trobe also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre to jointly support the sharing of skills, infrastructure, and innovative applications in the field of biotechnology.
