Shine at the Paris Olympics

The much-anticipated Paris Olympics have concluded successfully. It is exhilarating that athletes embodying the spirit of Griffith University took part in this Olympics. They were not only warriors on the field but also shining representatives of the university's honor.


OnlyParis Olympicsthere were38students and alumni from Griffith University competing, winning10 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals.Additionally, the Paralympics will also include some students, alumni athletes, and coaching staff from Griffith University.

Imagine if Griffith University participated in the Olympics as an independent country, based solely on the outstanding performance of its athletes, it could leap to the 11th place on the medal table, surpassing sports powerhouses like Canada and New Zealand. And based on the number of medals won in different events, Griffith University would rank 13th.


Griffith University's Olympic achievements this time are extraordinary, even surpassing traditional sports powerhouses like New Zealand and Canada.

This Olympic achievement not only highlights Griffith University's leading position in the global university sports field but also, with its outstanding Olympic performance and strong representation, has become a global focus. In comparison, top sports universities in the United States won a total of 23 medals, successfully bringing back 15. Meanwhile, sports powerhouses in the UK harvested 16 medals.


It is particularly noteworthy thatGriffith University athletesshone brightly at the Olympics,winning 18 medals for Australia, accounting for 34% of the national team's total medals (53),becoming an indispensable backbone of the Australian Olympic team.

Echoing our firm commitment to the 'Women in Sport Development Strategy',Griffith University's female athletesachieved remarkable results at the Olympics,they won 16 out of 24 medals, with 8 out of 13 individual event champions being female athletes.


It is particularly striking that out of the10 gold medals won by Griffith University, 9 were outstanding contributions from female athletes,demonstrating the infinite potential and strength of women in the sports field.

Bachelor of Exercise Science

The Bachelor of Exercise Science

teaches students to design, implement, and evaluate exercise programs and activities aimed at improving the overall health, fitness, and athletic performance of exercisers.

This course has broad employment prospects, whether in community centers, sports clubs, or health organizations, students can make a big splash.

You can choose to become a sports or recreation manager; or become a coach, a guardian in the field of occupational health and safety; if you are passionate about medicine, there is even the opportunity to delve deeper into the fields of heart, respiratory, and sleep medicine, becoming an expert in the field.

This course is accredited bythe Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).Upon successful completion of this degree program, students will be eligible to apply for ESSA's accreditation as an exercise scientist*. (*Application must be submitted within 2 years after graduation.)
