UOW's employment fairs provide students with a valuable opportunity to engage in in-depth exchanges and communication with multiple employers. Employment fairs can be comprehensive, with participating employers covering different industries; or they can be industry-specific, such as nursing and STEM career fairs. The university's career center also hosts employer information sessions, where students will have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives from specific organizations or industries.
Both types of events offer students the chance to connect and interact with people from their desired industries. Students will learn about current positions, company culture, and what actions they can take in the future to attract potential employers.
Students should pay attention to the timing of employment fairs to avoid missing out on opportunities!
Jobs on Campus provides UOW students with some temporary job opportunities, connecting students with employers in need of recruitment. The work content ranges from customer service in retail stores to student support roles and office work. This project strongly ensures that students can better complete future job search workshops to prepare for the application process of future careers, and also helps to understand students' expectations for the future workplace.
UOW's online platform CareerHub Plus offers a wide range of interactive tools, videos, e-learning, and written resources. It covers everything from improving resumes to effectively using social media. On this platform, employers provide a lot of advice, including how to make the best first impression, the latest developments in industries of interest to students, and interview simulators.
Other resources include cover letter samples, interview preparation checklists, resume writing guides, and application advice provided by UOW career consultants.
