01. Shanghai Normal University and its

College of Education Introduction

Shanghai Normal University (Shanghai Normal University), abbreviated as SNU, was founded in 1954 and is a comprehensive university with teacher education as its main characteristic. Located in the international metropolis of Shanghai, China, the university boasts first-class faculty and superior educational resources. SNU has significant influence in the field of education and is committed to cultivating high-quality talents with international vision and innovative spirit.

As one of the core colleges of the university, the College of Education at SNU shoulders the responsibility of cultivating future education leaders and researching educational development. The college consists of several departments and research centers, including the Department of Education, Department of Psychology, Department of Preschool Education, and Department of Educational Technology. The college has a strong faculty, comprising renowned professors, experienced education experts, and young scholars.

Moreover, the College of Education is also the organizational leadership unit of the Shanghai Education Supervision Research Center and the Shanghai Private Higher Education Teacher Professional Development Center, responsible for organizing the academic upgrading of teachers from 17 private higher education institutions in Shanghai. The college plays an important role in promoting educational reform, enhancing teacher professional quality, and promoting educational equity.

02.Student Exchange and Cooperation Programs

A highlight of this trip was the cooperation between the two institutions on student exchange programs. According to the agreement, senior students from Shanghai Normal University will have the opportunity to study at CDU for one semester. Students can choose 3-4 courses, and upon completion, they will receive credit recognition from SNU. This not only provides students with international learning experiences but also adds competitiveness to their career development.

More importantly, after completing the exchange program, these students can choose to continue their studies at CDU for a master's degree, obtaining a master's degree from CDU through 1 to 1.5 years of study. This initiative offers students more diverse and flexible academic development paths, enabling them to possess stronger cross-cultural communication skills and professional qualities in the context of globalization.

Joint Master's Training Program

Both sides also conducted in-depth discussions on the joint training model for master's students, proposing an innovative '1+1+1' model. According to this model, master's students will study at SNU in the first year, go to CDU for a one-year Master of Education program in the second year, with mutual credit recognition between the two institutions, and return to SNU to complete their studies in the third year. Students will have the opportunity to obtain dual degrees from both institutions. This joint training method not only enhances students' academic level and international vision but also strengthens educational cooperation and cultural exchange between the two institutions.

Doctoral Applications for In-service Teachers

Another significant outcome of this cooperation is that the College of Education at SNU has submitted doctoral applications for 14 in-service teachers to CDU. These teachers play important roles in educational institutions in Shanghai, aiming to further enhance their academic level and professional capabilities by pursuing doctoral degrees. Dr. Lin Yong provided detailed comments and guidance on the materials submitted by these 14 applicants, ensuring that each applicant could demonstrate their best academic potential. Currently, these applications are in the submission process, and in the future, more teachers will achieve higher academic achievements and career development opportunities through CDU's platform.

03. Looking to the Future

The cooperation between CDU and the College of Education at Shanghai Normal University has laid a solid foundation for future in-depth collaboration, jointly promoting educational innovation and development. Through these cooperative programs, more students and teachers will benefit, promoting mutual progress and development in the field of education between the two institutions.
