I. Important Admissions Updates

1. Important Information on Receiving Offers

Offer of Admission

Due to high demand for certain courses, students may find that places are limited or full when meeting the offer conditions or accepting unconditional offers. To secure a place, we strongly recommend that students accept unconditional offers as early as possible, as offers are only valid while places are available.

Acceptance Process
To expedite the offer processing, please note the following points that may cause delays:

  • Hawthorn-Melbourne CoEs: Students accepting Hawthorn-Melbourne CoE course packages must upload the CoE to the online acceptance form.
  • Payment Methods: Ensure that students do not select 'Internal Student Transfer' as a payment method, this option is only available to current University of Melbourne students.
  • The step-by-step guide for submission of acceptance has been updated to the University of Melbourne'sGet Started at Melbournewebsite, please discard the old version.

Documents for Acceptance of Offer,Please ensure that students submit all documents required by the acceptance agreement, including:

  • Receipts for tuition fees and OSHC (if applicable)
  • Financial Guarantee
  • Scholarship Letter (if applicable)
  • CoE for UMELP or UMELBP preparatory courses (if applicable)


II. 2025 Application Fee Adjustment

The University of Melbourne will increase the application fee for international applicants in 2025. From January 1, 2025, the application fee will increase from AUD 130 to AUD 150.


III. 2025 Second Semester Application Deadline

Note the following2025 Second Semester Application Deadlines:

  • Early Closure for Postgraduate Courses: January 31, 2025
  • Regular Postgraduate and Undergraduate Courses: March 31, 2025

Prospective students are strongly advised to submit their applications as early as possible. Complete applications will be prioritized for assessment.

IV. New Photo ID Requirements

From December 1, 2024, to expedite application processing, all international applicants must submit a scanned copy of one of the following documents:

  • Valid passport (copy of the information page), or
  • Government-issued photo ID (if no passport is available).
  • Unconditional offers will only be issued once this condition is met.


V. Conditional CoE Process for 2025 Second Semester Admission
The university has established a process for 2025 second semester admission that allows applicants to obtain a COE with a conditional offer. This process ensures that eligible applicants can obtain a student visa in a timely manner.

VI. US Digital Signature Security Requirements
Students who have received post-secondary education in the US must upload academic transcripts with digital signature security features, available through Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse. If a digital signature is not available, students are asked to send transcripts directly to us through Parchment. Students can nominate the University of Melbourne using the following email addresses:

When submitting through Parchment, students must ensure that their username (student ID) is included in the recipient information.

If Parchment is not available, academic documents can also be submitted through the National Student Clearinghouse. Specific operations include clicking 'Order a Transcript', selecting the school, and then arranging for the verified documents to be sent directly to:

VII. Undergraduate Admissions Updates

BCom Global Scholars Program

The BCom Global Scholars Program has been in place for over 10 years, aiming to promote diversity in the Bachelor of Commerce program. Under this program, international applicants may be admitted even if their scores are slightly lower, provided they meet the following conditions:

  • From countries where economic hardship limits opportunities for international education, and/or
  • From countries underrepresented in the degree.
  • Applicants admitted through the Global Scholars Program will also have the opportunity to receive the prestigious Commerce Global Scholarship.


Expansion of Accepted High School Diplomas from 2025,Starting from 2025, the program will expand to include the following international high school diplomas:

  • Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education
  • Indonesian High School Diploma
  • Japanese High School Diploma
  • Malaysian Matriculation Certificate
  • New Zealand NCEA (Best 80 Credits)
  • Philippine High School Diploma
  • Singapore Polytechnic Diploma (Singapore Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic)
  • Thai Certificate of Secondary Education
  • Taiwan Senior High School Diploma/High School Graduation Certificate
  • US High School Diploma (GPA + SAT/ACT)
  • US High School Diploma (GPA + AP Total Score)
  • Vietnamese High School Diploma (from approved schools)
  • Vietnamese High School Diploma (from unapproved schools, requires GPA + SAT/ACT).


VIII. Postgraduate Admissions Updates

Changes to Master of Construction Management ApplicationsMaster of Construction Management

The Melbourne School of Design has made some adjustments to the credit application process for the Master of Construction Management program. Applicants no longer need to submit a separate Formsite application, and can now apply for credit exemptions within the course application. When filling out the online application form for the Master of Construction Management, applicants will be prompted to upload course outlines for each subject they wish to receive credit for. A course outline template will be provided on the 'How to Apply' page of the website.


IX. 2025 MDHS Program Application Dates
Below are the application opening dates for key courses in Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (MDHS) for the second semester of 2025 and 2026 admission:
