The University of Queensland is pleased to announce the 2025 International Student Scholarship suite:

  • University of Queensland International Excellence Scholarship(25% tuition fee reduction)
  • University of Queensland International High Achievers Award(20% tuition fee reduction)
  • University of Queensland International Onshore Merit Scholarship(A$5,000 - $10,000 tuition fee reduction)
  • University of Queensland Lifelong Learner Scholarship(10% tuition fee reduction)

The 2025 suite of scholarships includes a key change, which is the expansion of the *eligible countries for the University of Queensland International High Achievers Award. Scholarships are limited and competitive, so we encourage students to accept their offers as soon as possible.

  • These scholarships are applicable to eligible international students enrolling inSemester 1 or 2, 2025.
  • Prospective international students of the University of Queenslanddo not need to apply for these scholarships separately, nor do they need to resubmit their applications.
  • Eligibility for all scholarships and awards will beautomatically assessedbased on the student's application to the University of Queensland. If eligible, they will be notified of the scholarship/award in their offer letter.
  • The tuition fee reduction for the University of Queensland Onshore Merit Scholarship is $10,000, and $5,000 for students in the University of Queensland College Foundation program.
  • Students who have received an offer or have already accepted their offer for 2025 will be assessed for scholarship eligibility in the coming weeks. The International Admissions team will notify successful applicants via email.
  • Some University of Queensland programs are excluded from the scholarship scheme. Specific terms and conditions for each scholarship can be found on the official website.
  • Scholarships and awards not only recognize academic achievements but also provide students with the opportunity to pursue their dreams. We encourage you to share these scholarship opportunities with your students.


*Eligible countries for the University of Queensland International High Achievers Award

Eligible countries for the University of Queensland International High Achievers Award include passport holders from:

Ghana, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Kenya, Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, as well as eligible European^ or Latin American+ countries.


^Europe: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom.

2025 international student scholarships


The University of Queensland is pleased to announce the 2025 International Student Scholarship suite:

UQ International Excellence Scholarship(25% tuition fee reduction)
UQ International High Achievers Award(20% tuition fee reduction)
UQ International Onshore Merit Scholarship(A$5,000 - $10,000 tuition fee reduction)
UQ Lifelong Learner(10% tuition fee reduction)

The 2025 suite of scholarships includes a key change to the UQ International High Achievers Award with an expansion of *eligible nationalities. Scholarships are limited and competitive, so we encourage students to accept their offers as soon as possible.


These scholarships are for eligible international students commencing their study at UQ in Semester 1 or 2, 2025.

Prospective international students do not need to apply for these scholarships or resubmit their applications.

Eligibility for all scholarships and awards will be automatically assessed at the point of application to study at UQ. If eligible, they will receive notification of the scholarship/award together with their letter of offer to study at UQ.

The UQ Onshore Merit Scholarship is a tuition fee reduction of $10,000, or $5,000 for UQ College Foundation packaged students.

Students who have received an offer or have already accepted their offer to commence at UQ in 2025 will be assessed for scholarship eligibility in the coming weeks. International Admissions will notify the successful applicants via email.

Some UQ programs are excluded from the scholarship scheme. These programs are listed in the Terms and Conditions on the website for each respective scholarship.
