After living in Sydney for two years, Yimian graduated from high school and decided to go to Canberra to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.

"This is a quiet and peaceful city, allowing me to focus on my studies while developing more skills." Yimian revealed.

Yimian's moving process was quite simple. After receiving an unconditional offer from the University of Canberra, Yimian successfully applied for on-campus accommodation. He packed his luggage, took a long-distance bus, and arrived in Canberra in just three and a half hours.

Choosing the right major for oneself

Yimian's goal of completing his studies in Australia is to obtain ideal employment opportunities and succeed in his professional field.


For him, the courses at the University of Canberra fully meet his needs. "The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program at the University of Canberra is very helpful for employment." He said. "Work Integrated Learning programexperience is meaningful because I can apply the theories I have learned to practical operations, which is exactly what employers value."

Yimian has two more years of undergraduate study, and he looks forward to continuing his study and life at the University of Canberra. During his sophomore year, he will choose elective courses such as biology and accumulate work experience through the Work Integrated Learning program, further honing his professional skills.


Although IT is his current focus, Yimian is also curious about different professional fields."I don't want to limit myself to the IT industry because biology is also a field I am interested in. I might even choose to study dentistry!"

Fortunately, studying at the University of Canberra, Yimian is able to pursue these interests, incorporating biology into his elective courses, and exploring new professional fields.
