【International Student Travel Grant in the Northern Territory, Australia】Application Guide

Dear international students, have you ever thought about starting your study life in Australia's Northern Territory? As a place that offers quality Australian education and genuine employment opportunities, Australia's Northern Territory welcomes international students. To help students better adapt to the new environment, the Northern Territory Education and Study Promotion Agency (Study in Australia’s Northern Territory) has specially established the Northern Territory International Student Travel Grant Program to alleviate the relocation costs for students moving to Darwin.


Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must not be in Australia at the time of application (evidence required)

  2. Applicants must not be Australian or New Zealand citizens, nor Australian permanent residents

  3. Applicants must not have previously received funding from the International Student Travel Grant Program

  4. Applicants plan to relocate to the Northern Territory from outside Australia

  5. Applicants have obtained a valid student visa (Visa type: 500)

  6. Applicants must arrive in the Northern Territory by June 1, 2024, and provide proof of booked flight itinerary and costs at the time of application

  7. Applicants must not have received other funding from the Northern Territory of Australia (e.g., Northern Territory Accommodation Grant/Northern Territory Scholarship Program)

  8. Applicants are currently enrolled international students at a Northern Territory international education and training institution, or students intending to study at a Northern Territory international education and training institution. Proof of enrollment is required

  9. Applicants cannot be international students enrolled in short-term or non-accredited courses. The course must be at least 24 weeks to qualify for this grant program

  10. Applicants must be enrolled in a course starting by June 1, 2024

  11. Applicants must have or open an Australian bank account in their name at the time of application, and have an Australian address for receiving funds (funds will be paid after the applicant arrives in the Northern Territory and the Australian Northern Territory reviews the bank account and address)

Grant Amount

Eligible international students can receive a grant of AUD 750 to reimburse relocation costs (flight costs)

Applications are now open.

The application deadline is May 30, 2024, at 11:59 PM, Australian Central Standard Time.


How to Apply

Step 1: Visit the Grants NT website and search for the Study NT International Student Travel Grant.

Step 2: Fill out the online application form and submit the accompanying documents.

Step 3: The Northern Territory of Australia will review your application and contact you if further information is needed.
