UOWThe Graduate Employment Fair brings together students from the University of Wollongong and employers from Australia and around the world, including the Australian Department of Law and Justice, the Australian Treasury,EYErnst & Young, Maersk Logistics, Peabody Energy, and Sydney Water.This rare opportunity has built a platform for students to interact with the industry, allowing them to directly understand important information about future workplaces, internships, and post-graduation employment.
Last year, the employment fair attracted over 800 students who engaged in face-to-face discussions with employers, exploring various employment opportunities in depth. This year's event has further expanded in scale, with 62 employers participating and multiple engaging employer presentations scheduled throughout the day, providing students with a broader perspective on employment and a deeper understanding of job opportunities.

As students prepare to complete their studies, the University of Wollongong Graduate Employment Fair offers them the opportunity to obtain professional employment advice directly from industry professionals. The UOW Graduate Employment Fair is open to all students and is particularly valuable for those in their penultimate or final year.
Professor Eileen McLaughlin, Interim Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Life) at the University of Wollongong, said: "The quality of graduates from the University of Wollongong has consistently ranked among the top in the country. Through the Graduate Employment Fair, employer representatives can provide students with valuable advice, useful suggestions on enhancing their employability skills, and tips on increasing their chances of securing a job."

Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics-Law undergraduate graduateMatthew O'Hanlonsaid that last year's event provided him with a crucial opportunity to secure a position at the Australian Treasury, the department that leads Australia's economy.
He said: "The University of Wollongong Employment Fair provided me with a better opportunity to engage with employers I would not have otherwise met. I received some great advice on how to properly start my career. Thanks to the people I met at the fair, and their advice and support, I applied for and secured a position in the Treasury's 2024 Graduate Program."
"I started my career with a great position. Before speaking with the Treasury at the fair, I never thought I would work there. After our conversation, I realized they were interested in more than just economics graduates."

Candice Grayson, Assistant Director of the Treasury's Entry-Level Program, participated again this year and said the fair is crucial for attracting and securing high-quality graduates.
Candicesaid:"As an employer who has participated in the University of Wollongong Employment Fair and hired several graduates, I am impressed by the diverse talents cultivated by the university.""The University of Wollongong is one of the many excellent universities that continuously cultivate top talents, having a positive impact on our government departments.
