As the Easter holiday approaches, students may be thinking about how to make good use of this free time to relax.During the holiday, it's the perfect time to explore Canberra, Australia's most green and sustainable city, by taking a walk around.

What is Easter?

Easter is a popular Christian holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus, symbolizing new life.Traditions vary around the world, but people usually choose to attend church services, decorate eggs, and have meals with family and friends to celebrate the holiday.


In many countries, there is also the custom of hunting for chocolate eggs, which are hidden for children to find.

There are four public holidays during Easter- Good Friday (March 29), Easter Saturday (March 30), Easter Sunday (March 31), and Easter Monday (April 1).


Most supermarkets and retail stores will be closed or have shortened hours on these days, so make sure to complete your shopping before the weekend!

Visit the National Zoo and Aquarium (NZA) with the UC Student Welfare Team on March 28.Learn about the lives of lions, tigers, and cheetahs, visit the daily lives of meerkats and zebras, and get up close with Australia's unique animals like kangaroos and koalas. Australian Colors - Art Exhibition

Gain new understanding and perspectives on Australian history and art by visiting the Vincent Namatjira exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia.Western Aranda artist Namatjira is known for his subversive portraits and political commentary, and was the first Indigenous person to win the prestigious Archibald Prize. This exhibition will continue until July.

Meet the Easter Bunny, hunt for chocolate eggs, and taste hot cross buns at the Old Bus Depot's weekend market.

Need to obtain a first aid certificate for work requirements? Or just want to learn first aid methods for emergencies?

UCLifex, in collaboration with the New South Wales Lifesaving Association, offers a comprehensive first aid course on campus on March 27 and 28.This one-day course will cover CPR and methods of providing first aid, including treating wounds, burns, and poisoning.
